Date of submission: N/A
Overall GPA:
3.94
Science GPA: 3.86
Bio-Chem-Physics GPA: 3.88
DAT score (include AA and all sections): 24AA, 25 PAT
State of Residence: Canada

Undergrad Attended: BSc in Biology, currently doing an MBA
Reapplicant? Yes
Shadowing and Volunteering: around 800 hours in dental settings and 700 in non-dental settings.
Employment: around 400 hours in a dental clinic, and 300 in non-dental related jobs.
Research: 3 total, 1 done (Med school) and 2 current (Public health + med school). Not sure how many hours as i haven't counted yet.
LOR type and strength: 2 from undergrad science professors and one from a dentist I shadowed. i'd say 7/10 strength from professors and 10/10 from dentist.

I realize I am a late applicant at this point. not sure which schools to apply to? Ideally I'd like Detroit mercy or Case western, but at this point i'd apply anywhere I have a chance.
I have not submitted my application yet. I was going through personal problems so I'm finalizing my application right now. Just not sure which schools to apply to.
My current potential list is:
Boston
Case western
Herman ostrow
Marquette
NYU
Detroit Mercy
Roseman
Temple
Virginia commonwealth
Pacific
University of Pennsylvania
University of Minnesota
University of Buffalo

Any suggestions for more? less?
Also would you change the personal statement as a reapplicant? or what do I do?

what schools did you apply to last cycle and when?
where did you get interviews and what were the results?
did you apply with the same stats last cycle?

I applied with the same GPA, but DAT was 20AA, no Masters, less ecs.
I applied super late last cycle, in December. I only got interviewed at NYU then waitlisted.
Applied to everyschool on that list and then some, i believe around 19 schools.

Did you take the US or Canadian DAT (each attempt)? Technically it shouldn't matter, but it may be of interest to a few of us.

Where are you doing your MBA? Did you just start before this cycle or are you on track to finish after this cycle is over? How do you fit this into your dental and community activities?

If you believe your lack of success was due to a late submission (December), why are you willing to repeat your mistake and submit in October?

Both my attempts were Canadian DAT. I believe I got 24 bio, 27 chem, 21 RC and 25 PAT.

I'm doing my MBA at Akron University. I started early in September and on track to finish it by June 2025. I had tons of problems. I really wanted to apply earlier but my dat took too long to come out. In Canada, unlike the ADAT, they don't give you a score when you finish it. It took 2 months for my score to come out. I thought i did much worse than I actually did at the time. This combined with other medical and personal issues caused the delay.

at this point, you are going to have to apply to pretty much every international friendly school if you are dead set on applying this cycle...

No, I haven't.

What is my best course of action right now?
Finish your MBA. Get a committed community service experience around you (connect with the community/civic engagement office).

Your description doesn't tell us if your dental experience has been in the US or Canada, but find some experience if you can. Free clinics where dentistry is offered.
