It says "Find X." Not "find the value of X." A girl in my high school did the same but she got an F cuz my teacher was mean. I got points off for writing "are" instead of "is." 😡

the point of the test is clearly to see if you know how to calculate the value of x, not to do the minimum explicitly required by the wording of the question

if you choose not to follow the spirit of the test, you are forfeiting the points

the point is most profs are actually quite fun and will let comments as such slide once, but if it is a recuring event haha just beware.

what are you talking about? none of my dozen math profs would let it slide, and i wouldn't want them too...screw the person getting equal points if they don't know how to do the problem

my math profs have been very fair, and here that means rewarding those who can do, and punishing those who can't, then grading on the aggregation
