We are all comfortable and well read with the current GPA system and it will likely not change, but let's say Obama gave you a blank check to change the system to become less skewed and biased. While the MCAT is a great equalizer, many don't find it enough...
How would you change it?

I'll only tell if you pass over some of that dank kush

Real plot twist: we cash the american healthcare system and fix the check
Actual plot twist: we cash the fixed check and fix the cashed american healthcare system

You Dawgs I heard you like Healthcare so I put some Healthcare in your Healthcare so you can have Healthcare while you healthcare
I heard you like putting healthcare in healthcare, so I put some healthcare into your healthcare's healthcare so you can healthcare while you healthcare while healthcaring.

*drops mic*

Thank you all for the comic relief but lets give OP a real answer here. I would fix the cashed healthcare system and check the fixed cash.

Your bowl is cashed now go check the... What were we talking about?

I guess I would use the blank check to have all the schools make separate premed classes from regular orgo, physics, etc and enforce some kind of standardized curving and testing system?

I think it's weird/unfair that some schools have classes that mostly curve to a C whereas other schools have ones that mainly curve to a B.

At the very least I think some schools have to start giving out more C/D's instead of having everyone get A/B's.

Donald Trump is going to repeal Obama-grades and replace it with an UNBELIEVABLE system and make the schools pay for it!

You keep ripping on Donald but who else are we supposed to vote for? A crook that blatantly gets away with it? God bless Murica'

I think you are thinking of the mcat .

But this would track long term performance vs. doing well on one high stakes MC test like the MCAT (both of which are important for med school success).

Also I think it could help out people who can't afford to buy a lot of prep materials for the MCAT. In this AU, the material taught in the courses would follow MCAT guidelines. The premed courses would have weekly/biweekly standardized quizzes (to encourage learning throughout the class vs just cramming for a final). The quizzes and some sort of final would be averaged at the end and then curved to a national standard (B or C).

(again this would only probably work in a blank check situation where you had the logistical power to create and grade the material while also having mechanisms to prevent cheating like with the MCAT)

I'll bite...Written evaluations--- I think UCSC does that--- damn hippies!

prof evaluation/grade comment: "Student consistently showed up to class.... asked insightful questions.... understood material..... a little heavy on the hair gel....C+"
