i am still not sure how it went
it lasted an hour and 20min
for the first half hour, i was trying to tell the interviewer why i picked the school, and he shot down every point (even the major selling point of the school) explaining that all these new extra things are simply used to attract students and would probably distract students from learning the basic sciences during their first 2 years
i was speechless, i tried to argue but his points were valid
later on we went over my amcas and clarified
at the end we talked about one of my hobbies and asked me for my professional opinions on some pictures

i can't even tell if he thinks i'm a good fit for the school because from what i can gather, he doesn't like the program too much.....

What kind of "pictures" were they?

One of my interviewers grilled me on every one of my reasons for picking the school, as well. He wouldn't let up on my reasons for picking the other schools that I applied to or why I thought his school was special.

At the end, however, I asked why he chose to join the school's faculty and he essentially said everything that I had said.

At the time, I thought that the interview was going down in flames but I realized afterwards that it's probably better. He knows where I stand on issues and although my explanations may not have been perfect and although I may have been defensive at times, at least I stood my ground.

I'm sure that you did alright if those are your only doubts as to your performance.

Good luck!

i bet you it wasn't as bad as you thought it was... if you handled his comments okay and didn't freak out, then I'm sure you did fine.

I had a similar interview like this --the doc that interviewed me basically said all my answers were too 'cliche' and he's heard it all before... BUT i got in!

I think some interviewers do this to see how you react...

ps: just scenery photos.....

see, the problem with mine is that i wasn't being defensive at all because he wasn't grilling me on my reasons for picking the school, he was simply grilling the actual programs offered by the school
do you think that he thinks i haven't thought deeply enough about the strength and weakness of the programs?
so i really don't know haha >_<

Well he was probably just trying to get past your prepared answers about the programs by making you think a little. There's no problem, I don't think. As long as you said what you liked about the school, accepted his points, and moved on without bloodshed, I think you're fine.

He was probably just tired of hearing about how wonderful the school is and wanted to stir things up a bit.

Well, what's done is done. It's impossible for any of us to tell you how bad it is. The interviewee is one of the worst judges of how an interview went.

One of my interviewers looked physically disgusted at every one of my answers. There'd be a long, awkward silence after I stopped talking. Then he'd check something on my AMCAS, look back up at me, some more silence, and then a lukewarm, "Okay."

haha
i am starting to think that i was probably instantly rejected from the start and he wanted to let me down gently by trashing the school so that i wouldn't feel as bad when i receive the actual letter in a few weeks

Nah, don't read into it.

ya true

man, it was my top choice too >_<
now i feel like giving up
