In high school, the bullies and cliques were people who were barely getting by. Most often, they got Ds and Fs in class. The people getting As are the bullied, not bullies.

The biggest shocker to me was that this is completely flipped in medical school. The people in cliques doing the bullying are the ones who are ranked #1.

Med school was more like high school from a social aspect than undergrad was. I felt like socially everyone regressed. It really made me miss my college friends.

I didn’t see much bullying, but the cliques were powerful and just about everywhere. And it only got worse as we all divided into our preferred specialties.

Nothing changed. The haves bully the have nots. In grade school, the haves were the popular kids. In medical school, the haves are the kids with top grades because who doesn’t want to get top grades in medical school.

Some people are just better than others, as a product of headstart, an increased affinity towards something, etc.

That ability should not be what defines a person. It’s one’s choices. One should strive to be a better person and make the world a better place because at the end of the day that’s what stays in the world.

i honestly dont get why it matters. I mean, - sure, its disappointing, but you arent there for social interaction. You are there to get your education and move on. you know what i mean? so, those people make their own decisions, and do whatever they want and stuff. But dont let it hurt you . You are there to get your education, your patient experience, and move on to the next stage - residency.

I don’t know about you but the bullies and cliques in my school became MIT grads software engineering and orthopedic surgeons.

I heard that it takes three things to be successful in a career the three As: Availability, Affability, and Ability. Most people have two and bullies are the ones with the ability and availability in this viewpoint and cliques are those with the ability and affability.

@HipiMochi I'm sorry that it seems like you are really struggling at your medical school. I am going to lock this thread, as you have posted multiple recent threads expressing similar sentiments:
