Was taking 2 community college classes while in high school and failed 1. Are my chances gone?

I'm currently a senior at high school and I was taking 2 classes at community college so could get ahead, but I failed 1. In the other class I got a 85% B. Are my chances of going to medical school gone?

This happens all the time. Your chances aren't gone and if you do well in the rest of your college classes it won't hold you back. It will be figured into your GPA and will be seen by schools but with years of great grades it can easily be overcome.

It will still be on there. If you apply MD, the med schools will average out the two grades. If you apply DO, the more recent grade will only be considered

Your chances aren't gone at all. I got a 85% and was worried until I knew the full story.

Your going to have a lot of these in college;
- Math (Algebra 2, Trig, Pre-Calc, Calc)
- Science (Biology, Physics, Chem, O Chem, Psychology, Sociology)
- English (English 101, 102, 175) e.g.

This is merely a scratch in your record. Don't worry about it, realize your mistake, fix it.

It's truly that simple. 🙂
