Washington State....anyone?

I did a search and it doesn't seem anyone has posted for Washington State yet....anyone applied here also?? If so have you heard anything yet...I know on their website it states that they do interviews in January and February.

Just wondering if there are any invites yet.....? 😀

Hey there,

I applied there, but I know I'm going to be rejected by them because I put down "TBD Summer 2008" for the Immunology course that they require prior to admission into the Pharmacy School. I didn't figure out (yeah, pretty dumb of me) until the last minute that Immunology is required by the Spring semester, and whatsmore, the only Immunology class at my school is a master's level class which means I won't be able to take it. Plus, I can't really fit it into my schedule anyway...so, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get rejected. What a waste of 50$ 🙁

As for whether or not I've heard from them, they've only sent me a postcard about what I've already sent them.

GL to you though, hope you have better luck than me!

I applied and have not heard anything either, other than the postcards. I am a WA resident and sent in my materials in early October. Keep me posted if you hear anything.
 
I got an interview....I don't know for sure what date but I am going to call tomorrow to set it up!!! 😀😀😀 Good luck to all those who are waiting!!
 
I just wanted to say good luck to any one that applied to Wa State. I am a Wa state resident as well, but I decided not to apply to Wazzu - way too many prereqs for me to finish up before the fall! I applied to UW instead.
 
heard anything from UW yet? Im still waiting for some sign of life. Im out of state, so its a long shot, but a friend of mine was accepted off the wait list during the first week of class, so there is hope...
 
I have an interview at WSU 1/25 (next Friday). They called yesterday and offered me the interview......Yeah for Spo-kompton!!

Congratulations!! 😀 I made my interview for Feb 22nd...I needed a later date so I could get a cheaper flight in!! Well, good luck and let me know how it goes!!
 
whoa...I got an interview invite, I totally didn't expect it at all. Anyone going there Feb 22nd?

hey guys! I have an interview next week on the 15th. Those of you who got interview invites, are most of you in-state or out-of-state applicants? 😕 They only accept 20% out of state applicants 🙁

Congratulations!! 😀 I am out-of-state how about you?? I realize they only accept 20% but we were selected for an interview so we should be proud!!😀
 
They are currently interviewing students. I received my acceptance letter today. I just wanted to let people know that they are practicing a different acceptance style this year, so it is better to interview early if possible. Good luck!!

Congrats!! 😀 When did you interview? I am just curious how fast they let you know of your acceptance. I will be there on the 22nd of Feb!! I can't wait!!! 😀 I am also very nervous!! :scared: I need to relax!! Less than one week to go!! 😀
 
Thank you!! It was pretty relaxed and everyone was really nice. I received my acceptance letter within one week after my interview. I interviewed on February 8th, and my letter was postmarked February 14th. I did not have to wait very long, which I appreciated. I am sure you will do great and hopefully we will be classmates in August!!!

Are you out-of-state or in-state? I know that because I am an out-of-state student, it is probably more competitive than in-state!! 😱 I think that is what makes me even more nervous...I know I have to "out-do" everyone else!! 😀 I am very impressed at how prompt they are to let you know of your acceptance...that has got to be the best feeling ever!! I can't wait to see a letter that says "YOU'RE ACCEPTED" (well, along those lines😀)!!! I really do hope that we can be classmates because I can say that I already know someone whom I will be attending class with day-in and day-out!!! 😀 Again, congrats!!
 
nothing yet!! Interviewed on Feb 15. I am so nervous. Did anyone who interviewed on the 15th hear from them yet?

So have you guys completed all of the new pre-reqs for washington state? Do we have until fall to complete these requirements, or do they have to be completed by graduation?
 
does anyone find it strange that b4 this thread, no one on this forum has started/written in a thread for washington state since 2006. And b4 that was in 2004. Why do you think that is? Most pharmacy schools, even the small ones in random states, get more action than WSU haha. I find it really odd!

Congratulations oregonprepharm! It is great to hear that someone else has received such good news. Hopefully, everyone else on here will as well soon. Good luck to those that have interviewed and not received any news yet. I find it odd that WSU does not receive much attention on the site as well. We must be the minority.
 
I just got a phone call to interview this morning! I didn't expect it at all because I know WSU only does interviews Jan-Feb and I figured this was the last week of interviews and I haven't heard anything so I was expecting a rejection letter in the mail.

WOW this is totally unexpected! I'm still so shocked but very happy!

The last interview date is this Friday.

Is anyone else going to be there? I'll be interviewing at the Pullman campus!

I'm so excited!! 😀

did you interview on the 15th? I interviewed then, and im from out of state as well. I still haven't heard anything yet! :scared: I hope it comes in soon! Have you heard from them yet??
 
Yeah I interviewed during the same week. The interviewer said that acceptance letters will be sent out in mid-march. So close, yet so far! Best of luck to you...possibly be classmates next fall.

I thought WSU changed their policy this year so that acceptance letters were given in a rolling-admission kind of basis? so...approximately two weeks after the interview maybe?
 
I dont think they have rolling admissions this year. It says on their website
"Second Week of March - all letters of admission and non-admission are sent. No other indication of status is given via phone or e-mail." I think mid-march is when many of the non-rolling admissions schools send out their letters too. I am both anxious and scared!
 
They do not have a rolling admissions in the same sense as other schools. They do not start reviewing applications until after the application deadline, but they are trying to notify applicants of admission status as quickly following the interview as possible. I received my acceptance letter within one week after the interview, but I cannot speak for the university obviously. Perhaps, at this point, they are going to do a mass mailing once all interviews are complete as their interviews normally finish at the end of February. For those who have not heard yet, good luck!!

congrats 🙂 Just wondering, are you in-state or out of state? And, what did your acceptance letter look like...was it in a regular envelope? I'm out of state, so I'm feeling kind of anxious.

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!! 😀😀 For those of you interested I interviewed on Feb 22nd (only a week ago)!! 😀 Also, it came in a big yellow envelope!! You will know when you see it!! Good luck to everyone!! :luck:

Congrats!!! What state do you live in? I also interviewed on the 22nd...I hope I get one too :😱: 🙁
 
Congratulations!! I am so excited to hear of someone else who has been accepted. When my boyfriend called to tell me that a letter came, the first thing I asked was the size of the envelope! Good news always seems to come in a large envelope. Congratulations again.


BTW: I am in-state for those who are curious.
 
I was talking to a P2 student and she said last year when she got her acceptance letter it came in a small envelope but it was a lil thick.

I'm so scared to check the mail box in the upcoming weeks!! 😱

I live in Utah!! The envelope was dated Feb 28th and I received it on Sat Mar 1st. So it took a couple of days to get to me. Well good luck to those still waiting. I am sure there are more offers coming!! 😀
