I got an interview at wash u (hooray!), so I filled out the form to request my interview day and emailed it to them a week ago. I recieved confirmation from them and have heard nothing since (ie: no date of when I should arrive at the school). Whats going on? Does anyone know?

I would call them and ask. even though they received it, they could have misplaced it.

Did you get the interview reply form?

INTERVIEW REPLY FORM

NAME: Mr.( ) Ms.( ) ___________________________________

DATE OF INTERVIEW:_____________________

BEST E-MAIL:_____________________________

CURRENT RESIDENCE PHONE NUMBER:______________________

OTHER PHONE NUMBER:_______________________

etc...

Wash U mailed me the form.

They said you could reply by email so I did -- although it made me nervous. I both embedded the information and attached a pdf copy of the original form.

They sent me back an email confirmation on the 14th with the following text:

Thank you for your e-mail.
MD Admissions Office
Washington University School of Medicine

But no date. no info of how I would recieve a date. In short, nothing useful.

I suppose I should call tomorrow... but I dont want to harass them if this is normal and a letter with all the useful info is in the mail.

I got an email saying:

Thank you for your reply. You have a reservation confirmed at Olin Hall for etc.., etc... There's a desk in the lobby of Olin where you can check in when you arrive.
Peggy Schurwan
Admissions Office
Washington University School of Medicine

But if you didn't ask for Olin hall, you may not have any date. The only email I got after this one was three days before the interview.

Thank you SO much. I will check the interview date with them to set up travel.

What did you think of the interview itself? Fun?

The school looks great on paper. Neat research, interesting faculty etc.

did washu send the invite via snailmail, and when did you receive it? it's been over a month since i've been complete there and i'm just starting to wonder whether i'll get an invite.

For ellia: I'd call them and ask. They got back to me with a date within a week. I'll actually be there Friday and I'm really looking forward to it.

For futuremsfdoc: They come via snailmail. I think I got my invite, which came in mid-September, about a week after I got the letter telling me I was complete; exact dates are in my profile if you care. But there's always hope (until the rejection arrives, anyway) - some people wait months for invites and then get in!

Hey thanks all.

I called them up and got things straightened out. I'll be seeing Saint Louis next wednesday.

Any things I shouldnt miss?

how much time will you have? the happenin places at night are down by the arch, called the landing. during the day if you have time, forest park is probably the best place to go. it has an art museum that's surprisingly decent (not like chicago or the national gallery, but not bad), there's a zoo that's prolly the third best in the us (behind dc and san diego), and the park area itself is pretty nice. if you want pizza and lots of it, go to pointers pizza on the loop (i'm pretty sure it's on the loop, it's like 5 minutes from the ugrad) and you can get a 28 inch pizza that if you finish in an hour with another person (maybe a good place to go with your fellow interviewees) you win 500 dollars (enough to pay for your interview most likely).

sorry for all that random information. let me know if you want better details.

I missed the cardinals NLCS championship, no time to get some scalped tickets 🙁, but maybe you can catch the World Series? Game 3, 4, 5 at Saint Louis next Tues, Wed, Thurs, and the metrolink takes you right to Busch Stadium.

Ummm...

Did anyone else have 2 interviews for regular MD program?
(one with an admissions committee member and one with a researcher)

In my obsessive premed mind I am trying to figure out what this might mean. I am thinking too hard about this arent I? ... right?

All right. Im off for a little well deserved R&R and to find a halloween costume.

When you get two interviews at WashU, all it means is that one of the interviewers is just starting out and they want to see if that person is an okay interviewer. Not to worry 🙂

Thanks leiface! What a relief.
(FYI- I love your hamster attack... that is HILARIOUS!)

Looking back at this thread makes me realize how nutty I sound.

I'm really not this paranoid in general. I guess that of all the schools I'm applying to, WUSTL seems most attractive to me. Apparently, this makes me a little weird.

Sorry all. I'll try not to stress in the future.
