Aw man, I didn't get one yet!!! Lets hope for later this week.

yay for you dvmdream...although that makes me mega nervous, and hopeful that i will get one soon!

Has anyone else received an email from WSU yet? I haven't, and I'm now starting to freak out a little!

I haven't received an e-mail from them yet either. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

Good luck all you Pullman weenabies! :xf: While I did not get so much as an interview there last year at my should have been home school, well I will come back to WA when I am done with this whole vet school schbang. Rock on you west coast outcasts! 🙂

Anyone else still not get an e-mail from Washington yet?

Still nothing here either. But I am not too worried about it for some reason.

Good luck guys. You're in my thoughts and prayers!:xf::luck:😀

I still haven't gotten an email from them either. So glad I'm not the only one, but I hope we all hear something soon!

If it's any consolation there have been some changes in the office (a retirement and another on maternity leave) so the duties may have been reshuffled a little. I wouldn't worry about not getting much back. You can read the previous WSU thread and not much action happens for a few more months. Sorry guys, I know it's a long wait.

Just be thankful you're not in vet school yet 🙂 It can be a mixed blessing (unless you don't like sleep, then you're golden).

I just received an email from WSU stating that my application was complete and that the review process has begun.

At least I don't have to worry about anything missing and can get back to Ochem and physics. Blahhhh

Good luck all!!!!:luck:

I received my notification today too. Time to stop worrying!

 I am so glad others are starting to get e-mails. I started to think I was going crazy and just dreamt of the e-mail. I have looked at it five or six times to be sure I wasn't crazy. Good Luck everyone!! :luck:

I still haven't gotten the email! I'm really starting to worry that for some reason one of my four transcripts didn't make it in. All were sent in plenty of time, but who knows? Anyone else still confirmation email-less? Trying hard not to panic here! Maybe I'll just call or email next week, but I hate to bother them if its just a matter of me being inpatient.

I haven't gotten an e-mail yet.

Has anyone received any more news from Washington? I still never got an e-mail saying that my application was complete, but I had called before that and gotten verbal confirmation that I had everything in...oh well

No interview invites for anyone??? I haven't heard anything...

I'm currently applying as a WICHE student from the state of Nevada and actually received an "Early Interest" snail mail from them earlier this week. I've been informed that I can either wait to see if I get WICHE funding (the letter made it seem that if that's the case, I'll be admited 😀) or I can sign-up for an interview just in case I don't get funding and am then considered an OOS student. Anyone esle received this or something like this in the past? I'm very excited. I'm opting to sign up for the interview so that all my bases are covered. I'll keep you posted on when it is.

This is like being on a roller coaster ride. My stomach dropped when I saw this thread bump up. Just when I thought I had a handle on the waiting. January seems so far away. I know friends last year who heard right after Christmas.:scared:

I am WICHE from AZ and I haven't received anything like this, but I need to send them an e-mail to mail things to my other address since I will not be checking the mail at my other address for about a month. I checked the mail before I left on Thursday and there was nothing there. So I will be sending all of my schools e-mails and having them change the address for the next month. Hopefully I will get something, but I am really doubting it and just keeping my fingers crossed :xf: for WICHE. Good luck at your interview!! :luck:

The year before (my year) we didn't hear until mid/late January. Don't worry if things are taking a while, especially since they've changed some things in the office.

Enjoy the holiday season while you can... because 2 years from now you'll be studying a crap ton, getting ready for 5 finals in 5 days, living in a place where you can't remember the last time the temperature was above freezing, and wondering why the heck you wanted to get into vet school in the first place...😉

Hey I got one of these letters too! I'm from Arizona and I also opted for the OOS interview just in case. I'm so excited!!!! Good luck!

I'm new here by the way. Hello all!

I'm from Arizona and received the same letter! I also chose the interview...hopefully WICHE will save me from it though 😀

Good luck everyone!

Overall GPA* Science GPA** GRE%***
Tier I >3.5 or >3.7 or >75
Tier II 3.2-3.5 or 3.5-3.7 or 60-74
Tier III <3.2 and <3.5 and <59
So....as I understand it more Tier 1 applicants are invited for interviews and if you're a Tier 3 don't count on it? And it looks like with the "or" they basically pick your highest catogory? What if you are Tier 1 in one thing and Tier 3 in another?

Okay, since I'm IS, I'll explain this - I've had it explained to me by a vet (plus it's pretty easy). If you're in Tier I for one thing (say, you have an overall GPA over 3.5) then you are considered a Tier I applicant! That's what all the "ors" are about. You're also considered Tier I if you have a science GPA over 3.7, or a GRE over 75%, no matter what the rest of your stats are. Does that make sense?

I know that the full-fledged veterinary program at WSU is located at the campus in Pullman, WA, however is the Pre-Vet program available at the campus in Vancouver, WA? I ask because I live in Vancouver, WA.

Or am I completely mislead entirely?

I've just recently started looking into it and I also recently decided I wanted to go into veterinary medicine..

Nope! I'm also in Vancouver (I'm at Clark right now) but the closest you get to "pre-vet" is a Biology degree.

Ah, I see. I'm filling out the WSU Application online but I'm not sure if it's campus specific. Do you think it'd be practical to take pre-reqs at WSU, Vancovuer then transfer into the Pullman campus or do you have to declare your Pre-Vet track as soon as you get in? This is something I really want to do but I'm just so daunted by the math courses. :[

It's campus specific, I'm pretty sure - you can only apply to one campus. I'm hoping to take at least a year of pre-reqs at WSUV - simply because since I live in Vancouver, I don't have to pay for housing. No, you don't have to be a "pre-vet" major to go to vet school, you know. You could major in Music if you wanted to! I haven't decided a major yet, though I'm leaning towards biology or chemistry.

I'm daunted by the math as well - trig is my weak point, and I dare not attempt calculus. If you'd like to talk more, PM me! It can be about school or just about whatever. xD I'm pretty knowledgeable at least about WSUV, so if you have any questions, I'll help out. =)

yes, nohika, thanks. This is how I understood it but I wanted to be sure...thank you for the confirmation!

I just got an email saying my application has been evaluated and found to be strong enough to warrant a personal interview, and I'll be receiving a letter in the mail from them shortly with further details! Hope others get good news in their email today too, though I think in-staters hear before out of state applicants. Anyway, best of luck to all!

congrats! I take it your an instater?

I've been waiting by my mailbox for ANYTHING from Washington for the past couple of days. I hate to be the Debby Downer and Negative Nancy, but does anyone recall how they will notify us for rejections and when-ish? I hate this waiting thing, I wish they would just tell me. Rip off the band-aid, already!

Same here! I wish it were through e-mail instead.. makes it a little less nerve-wracking.
