Really? I guess that's good for me, I'm assuming you got in somewhere else, Wisconsin right? That's awesome, Congratulations!

Thanks! Yeah, I got into Wisconsin, which is close to the top of my list. I also got into Oregon State and Michigan State..and interviews for 3 schools (including Washington). I hope my withdrawal helps you with getting in, and good luck! :luck:

WOW!! That's so great! Are you pretty sure about Wisconsin or are Oregon and Michigan up there too?

If you have too many choices, zuneski, I can take that Wisconsin spot off your hands, no problem. 😉 lol. Congrats on your acceptances! (And good luck with your *tough* decision.)

Hey when you tell them you are withdrawing your app. can you recommend that they give me your alternate spot? Thanks! 😉 Congrats on all of your acceptances!! :claps:

Thanks everyone! I have a feeling that I’m going to end up in Wisconsin. I only applied to Oregon because it was a WICHE school, and Michigan was not high on my list. But it’s definitely exciting to know that they've accepted me! I’m really holding out for UC Davis (for the wildlife program), although I’m confident that I’ll be rejected. I pretty much bombed that interview. 🙁

DVMDream, I’ll put in a good word for you when I finally get the courage to withdraw my app. Let me know what happens with Western! :luck:
Good luck to all of you!

Thanks! 😉 I hope you get into Davis maybe it just seems like the interview went bad when it really went well (kind of like how I thought my WSU interview went well, but apparently not as well as I thought). Good luck to you for getting into Davis!! :xf::luck:

No nothing yet. They told us we should hear by the 15th or sooner. Last year it looks like people started getting e-mails around the 12th. I will be sure to update as soon as I know (if it is an accpetance then I will be cheering so loudly that you will probably know before I update. 😀) I am just really, really hoping for an acceptance; I would even take an alternate...just no more rejections. Let me know if you get off the waitlist at WSU! I will keep my fingers crossed... :xf:

Thanks and likewise! I applied there last year and Lopez told us at the interview day we absolutely would not hear before March 15th but then we all got emails the Friday before I think. One of my friends was on SDN who didn't apply to Western and texted me to check my email. Actually, it was the day my boyfriend and I were flying home for my spring break and I remember sitting in the airport crying cause I got waitlisted boo! Hopefully you have better luck than I did!😉

Thanks! Yeah at the end of the day right before all of the financial aid info they told us March 15th and then someone else yelled out, "Or sooner!" So I am hoping for sooner, but however long it takes them to accept me is fine with me. 😛

So I'm also an alternate (OOS) at WSU. I'm in the top 10%, but I don't really know what that means... Does anyone here actually know how long the OOS alternate list is this year (asked Barbara Hodson, and she did not tell me)? Or does anyone know how long they tend to be in general?

I did find out that 37 students were offered OOS state spots (that's non-WICHE, btw). Does anyone also know if they tend to offer more students spots than they expect to accept? Could it be that us alternates don't actually have 37 spots/chances but something less since they'd actually like a smaller class (does that question make sense?)?

I'm waiting for WSU, and I'm also waiting to hear anything from Oregon State (also OOS), and in general I'm a laid-back person. However, I am super excited and anxious about my chances here, and thinking about the numbers helps keep me occupied.

My friend who is not an SDNer said I could post for her. She got the call this afternoon. (IS, top of the waitlist, called 4/19)
They didn't say how many spots they needed to fill sorry.

Good luck to all those who are waiting!!!!!:luck:

Thanks for the update!

I'm on the OOS wait list, so I don't know where they are on that.

Good to know it is moving. I just need it move a lot further down the list to reach me.

Thought I would check and see if anyone had heard anything new before I move on to my plan B.

A master's at New Mexico State in Ruminant Nutrition.

I haven't heard anything, yet. 🙁

Are you wondering if you should go ahead and apply to your plan B program? Or have you already applied and been accepted, and you are wondering if you should accept their offer?

If you haven't applied, I would recommend going ahead and doing that. It'll mean more $$$, but it's worth it to not miss a deadline if you are never called from the wait list.

If you are wondering about accepting an offer, I would also say if you haven't heard from WSU and the deadline is fast approaching, go ahead and accept the offer. Again, likely more $$$ for a deposit, but you don't want to count on something that is very uncertain and almost essentially up to another student.

This is my advice based on absolutely no knowledge of your situation.

P.S. Ruminant nutrition sounds pretty cool!

hey everybody - I'm sitting in the seattle airport right now waiting for my flight out to Spokane. I'm visiting the school this week and am VERY VERY excited to check out this great school!

Excited and wanted to post SOMEWHERE! lol 👍
