Thanks. Not sure how I feel about this. Hopefully it will be good but I just have this gut-like-bad-feeling. I guess we will find out sooner or later. Good luck everyone still waiting. :luck:

Haha thanks for doing that I was on the verge of emailing her for the SECOND time this week. At least we will know tomorrow right? I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!
 
Are you thinking that they will email everyone or snail mail the waitlists and rejections?

Someone mentioned earlier that only acceptances are through e-mail and the rest will be via snail mail. So if I do not hear anything via e-mail tomorrow I think I will have lost all hope. 🙁 But, until I have an official letter there is still a small sliver of hope left...I think I will hang onto that (via the grip of death). 😉 Good Luck to all still waiting to hear! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. :xf:
 
Everyone who has been accepted so far has gotten an email so I'm assuming that's how they will do the rest.

I wonder how long I can go tomorrow without checking my inbox? I'm gonna guess about 5 minutes at a time...
 
Any emails? (Nothing here--so sorry if you saw this thread "bump" and had a heart-attack.)
 
Nothing here either. This seems unlikely that they were going out today and NO ONE on here heard right? There is usually at least one person that gets news
 
I don't know... this sort of thing happened on the Wisconsin thread too. A few people got phone calls over a 2-3 day period and posted on SDN...The rest of us freaked out. Someone was finally brave enough to call and find out what was going on and they said "only some decisions have been made, we'll contact the rest ASAP." Then no one heard anything until letters arrived, and the rest of us (that didn't get a phone call) were waitlisted/rejected. 🙁

So, maybe when WSU said the rest of the decisions would go out today, they meant the letters. 🙁
 
No nothing yet. (Thanks for the heart attack GSDgirl. 😛) I did e-mail Barbara today to see if they have made all of the decisions/if the decisions have gone out yet. I will let you know what she says as soon as I hear anything.

I wish that was true but so far WSU has been true to the schedule. Nothing here either. Hopefully they ran out of time but I'm afraid its the waitlist/rejection road for me.

I've been corresponding with Ms. Hodson and she has been hugely helpful in coming up with an itinerary for me next Friday to see the hospital, classes and the campus.

Hm, well I don't know about you but I am taking the weekend off and pretending vet school doesn't exist. At least for the time being. I'm so tired of stressing

Lol..I wish you good luck with that. I have tried that every weekend since I know that I will not receive anything, but it doesn't work for some reason. I am so tired of stressing too, but I can not seem to get vet school out of my head. I did go see a movie tonight though just to get away from my e-mail/computer and I was able to break away from thinking about it for a little bit...but I did start to wonder in the middle of the movie if I will ever get into vet school...I am way too caught up in it now...I hate this waiting game.

🙁 Well I know lots of people who have gotten in off waitlists so don't give up hope. Is this your first time applying?

I feel your pain, really, this is my 3rd time applying and I finally decided to apply to the UK schools and got in so believe me, its not hopeless. It is really something you should think about if you haven't yet.

Not getting in isn't the end of the world, trust me, I have learned a lot about myself over this process and since I haven't been in vet school (I went the grad school route after college) I have had way more opportunities to do fun stuff I won't get to do over the next 4(5) years.

Yeah...I am hoping to get a waitlist and get in that way...I am still waiting on Western as well so I am not completely out of hope...not until I have 2 rejections in my hands (which I really, really hope does not happen). Yes, this is my first time applying. I am not sure what I will do if I do not get in. Research is not really in my interests at all and so I do not really want to go the Master's route if I can avoid it. I will probably just try to take some interesting upper-level sciences at a different college as either a second degree seeker or as post-bacc., I will also spend the time to save up some $$, and to get some more experiences outside of SA. I know that if I do not get in there is a reason for it so I will just continue to grow and improve my application. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by how well I have done so far...4 applications; 2 rejections and 2 interviews...all I need is one yes.

I really, really hope you get into WSU especially since this is your third time..I really think that shows dedication and perseverance and people who continue to work towards this goal through multiple applications definitely deserve the opportunity. My fingers are crossed for you. :xf:

Thanks! And you should be totally proud of yourself! 2 interviews is AWESOME! The first time I applied i didn't get squat. And I was waitlisted at Western last year and I didn't apply there this year.

You know, there are lots of Masters programs where you don't have to do research, I didn't, I just took all the animal science classes that weren't offered at my undergrad and was able to participate in research if I felt like it (just helping other students with their animal projects). But I understand if you don't want to do the grad school thing, its a big chunk of time and a few vet schools make sure you will finish the program before you would start so its not always the best option.

Yeah..if I do not get in then I will be doing some searching to see what is the best option for me....I am already 50K in debt from undergrad...so the less loans I have to take out the better and since I will probably be OOS for vet school when I do get in (WICHE does not seem to be doing well) I really want to keep my debt to a minimum.

[Warning: Rant!] I'm getting a little more than frustrated with this situation. Weren't we supposed to hear back within two weeks? I'm sure I'm either waitlisted or rejected, but come on! How long do we need to drag this out? I think this is just enough to push me into a final decision for a different school--regardless of whatever my letter says (whenever that arrives...) They should have emailed everybody their status the same day, or at least sent an email saying all offers were made. 😡

I know how you feel...like being tied to the back of a car and drug through mud...and not being able to do anything to stop it...until the car either runs out of gas or crashes...it sucks. I did not actually get my initial "early interest" interview letter until after my interview. Apparently, it got stuck in the mailing system somehow....I am just really, really hoping that it does not happen again with the final decision letter. I wish they would just e-mail the answers as well...honestly...I have not been disappointed being rejected by e-mail in the past...does not make the hurt any less just because it is in a letter vs. an e-mail. Oh well, the waiting and dragging continues......

I completely agree, they should have just emailed everyone at the same time, I mean there couldn't have been that many of us. My letter was lost last year too and Barbara had to end up sending three before I finally got one.
 
Just got a letter from WSU! I'm an alternate! Anyone else hear yesterday? Also does anyone know if they rank or how many alternates they usually take?
 
Awesome. No letters in Wyoming. The wind must have been blowing to strong. Not sure how the alternate system works. I know they usually don't go as deep as Kansas etc
 
Congrats on the alternate! No letter for me yet, hopefully they will make it to AZ tomorrow (and it will not get lost like my interview letter). I really am not sure how far they go down the alternate list or if it is ranked or not. I hope you get off the list soon though...Good Luck. :luck::xf:

I just talked to Barbara and I'm an alternate! She told me that I'm in the top 10% of the alternate list, but there have been years where no alternates have been offered admission. She also told me that she started sending out rejection/alternate letters in the mail last Wed, but I still haven't received anything. Hope this helps!

Got my acceptance packet in the mail today! For those of you waiting it came in a large brown envelope 🙂

To be totally honest, I didn't like WSU as much as the other schools I applied to (I was surprised, going into my interview-date, WSU was near the top!). I was lucky enough to get into ISU, which I absolutely fell in love with during my interview, and am on 2 other OOS waitlists already (CSU and UW-Madison). I'm 99.9% sure I'm going to ISU (holding out 0.1% for a waitlist spot at UW-Madison, which has cheaper OOS tuition). Anyways, I figured that since I don't have my heart set on WSU, I should withdraw so that I'm not potentially "holding up the waitlist" for the real WSUers. 🙂 Good luck! (I hope you're near the top of the list, and get a call really soon!)

Yeah, well that's important and congrats on ISU that's awesome! I applied there too but got straight up rejected (boo). I'm waitlisted at CSU too but am not holding my breath.

I came home at 2 and had no mail. Just as I was leaving the mailbox the postal lady pulled in. I got an alternate position. I think that I need to chase off everyone else by spreading false rumors about WSU!!!!
