hey guys! i might have good news. if i don't get a merit scholarship to washu, i will be withdrawing in the next few weeks. i received word from pritzker and there's no justifying going to washu on that note.

Good karma comin your way buddy. Even if you end up getting the merit scholarship and staying, it's the thought that counts.
 
question. what is the april 15th deadline? i thought that this was when they were going to send out the waitlist letters, but since they already have, does this date have any significance anymore??

Yes of course. If given the choice, I am staying in Canada. If I have to go to the US, then my order of preference would be WUSM and that's it. If nothing works out I'm going to grad school and then maybe think about an alternative career plan!!

guys, i just got the call from dean dodson that i'm off the waitlist while i was driving home from work! i got so excited that i forgot to ask whether this means i have to make a decision by tomorrow??? this wouldn't make sense, right? i hope...

did anyone else get a call?? good luck to everyone waiting!!!!!!

thanks! yes, it's sort of tied for my first choice with one other school (i'm indecisive, but i'm WL'ed at the other school so it doesn't matter). good luck you guys!! :luck:

thanks guys. i have til friday to accept. the financial aid's not looking so good right now...🙁 i'll let you know what i decide; hopefully if i give it up one of you will get the call next.

I got the same email a couple minutes ago. My email server doesn't like the return address for some reason, replying got a little tricky.
 
i got the email too, but i can't see the attachment that is supposed to have my address and stuff on it, did anyone else have problems?
 
I think I just got in. I got a phone call (missed in the morning) and a really positive sounding email directly from dean dodson in addition to that waitlist email. I'm calling in right now....
 
why would dr dodson ask if one was interested staying on wait list ? why not just offer you a place ?

I'd bet it's because some people have been so busy deciding between acceptances, etc., that they may have forgotten to withdraw from waitlists in the meantime. Maybe they want to make sure they don't review anyone who's not interested - I don't think everyone who was e-mailed gets a spot.

It's because they don't want to waste time accepting people who won't go there. Obviously all the people that got the email (me included), didn't get through the first round of acceptances. Why does life go on sucking?🙁

I feel the same way. I got the email too and I decided not to withdraw my app just yet. Maybe I should have. 🙁 This is killing me. I'm on 3 waitlists and the pain is horrible.

Congrats on the two of you that got in!!

Yeah, congrats. It just goes to show that it is a big mix of chance, hard work, tears... and at the end of it some joy.

Thank God this is over. I had applied a late and ended up waitlisted all of the five schools at which I interviewed. March and April nearly killed me!! To celebrate yesterday, I drank one beer for each of the 15 letters of intent I wrote to the five schools. Needless to say, I showed up a little tipsy to my Spanish oral exam that afternoon😛 😛

Jesus, people sent more than one LoI to schools? I thought something like that would be frowned upon and seen as being a pest. I guess I'll write one more. 🙁

But I'm guessing that they have sent out around 50 first-round waitlist acceptances by now.
 
50? Where do you get that number?
 
In their waitlist letter it said that they expect to take maybe 50 people from the waitlisl. It's just a wild guess.
