1st year is pass/fail. 2nd through 4th year are honors/high pass/pass/fail. Class rank is by thirds. AOA is a popularity contest. Senior class votes for whom they'd want to see in AOA and the persons with the highest numbers of votes who are also in the top third of the class will get AOA.
