watch for interview

sure, just pick up a fossil watch or something like that... it wont last forever, but they can look pretty nice

Swatch. they're cheap and can last just about forever (my first Swatch is 10 years old and counting). the Irony collection is generally pretty serious looking, steel dial with leather strap. there used to be a store on (to my recollection) 59th st, between 5th and madison ave; i think it's closed now though. i believe there's also a store in Time Square and also W. Broadway (in SoHo).

Its all about the After-Thanksgiving sale at Macy's.

Get a kenneth cole with the leather band, its worked for me.

No watch necessary.

?
Well you want some sort of time piece to keep you on schedule from place to place during your interview. You could use your phone, but I like to keep my phone off when interviewing.

dressing for interviews: i know i need a watch but does anyone know any stores where i could get watches for around $50 in new york?

chinatown, canal street. you'll find what you need for $10-20.

You can get imitation knock-off watches off the street anywhere in NYC for as little as 5 bucks. They're not the real thing but I've checked and they actually keep good time.

From my experience, the only time that matters during your interview is when you arrive. Everything else is scheduled. Then again, having a watch is nice. Ebay has tons of cheap watches. Just order from someone with a lot of feedback.

there is a swatch on 72nd and columbus and also one somewhere near the broadway/lafyette subway station... not that i'm swatch obsessed or anything...

having a watch is important, simply because it is the final accent that pulls it all together. especailly for guys. but like i said, not watch obsessed...

if you are not used to wearing a watch, you probably should get one that has numbers on it. even for those experienced among us, sometimes its hard to tell what time it actually is when there are no indicators on the face.

but yeah, i'd go with a fossil. they're good watches, have a bit of a personality, but not anything weird, and are cheap.

the watch person has spoken...

Are you looking for a name brand watch or what? Because otherwise there is no way you need to spend anywhere close to $50. You can buy totally accurate attractive cheap watches at any department store or drug store. And if you want a brand name watch for $50 you missed the Black Friday sales.

And I can't live without a watch; if i'm going to be late, i like to know exactly how late i'm going to be. 😀
