wave and particle theory

Reflection,Refraction and photoelectric effect are explained by the particle theory, whereas diffraction and interference are explained by the wave theory of light. If we are to consider light as a purely particle phenomenon how will the result of diffraction and interference differ?

If light was purely particle, we wouldn't get any diffraction patterns. Light going through a pinhole wouldn't spread out. Light couldn't bend around objects.

Similarly, inteference is the summation of waves. If light were just particles, it would superimpose with each other.
