I'm a pre-dent, looking to work on my waxing skills. Anyone know where i can get my hands on some wax, torch and maybe the name of good dent book to learn some techniques and shaping from? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

What if anything can be practiced before D-school to help get a head start or a running start?

Hello,

Don't worry about learning about hand skills until you are in the dental school. To get your hands coordinated for dentistry is a systemic approach and you will be taught this. You will be taught to think in millimeter. ie. THINK SMALL! A way to help you get ahead is to work with reverse image (like looking at the dental mirror) by using a piece mirror and try to write/draw an image/sentence by only looking at the mirror. I found that this practice is really helpful. If you are a plastic modeler ( I started when I was 5), it really helps alot too. DP
