Is this your first choice? also when did you interview? ....I interviewed on 1/14/10. I also got me acceptance email.

Do you know how long we have to turn in the $1000🙁.

I don't think so. They had a sheet with questions or something for my interview which they referred to and wrote notes on.

Maybe you're a really awesome candidate so they just needed check if could speak in full sentences.

Congratulations on your acceptance as well!!! Wayne State is my number 1 choice so I will be there next year. I also interviewed on the 14th. I think in the e-mail it said we will be receiving the official letter in the mail with information about the deposit within a week. I think on PharmCAS it says you have 2 weeks from when the letter is received to send in the money. I think 2 weeks is the normal amount of time...thats how long I had for my number 2 school.
 
Also got in to Wayne! For those who want stats:
3.67 gpa
70 pcat
500+ hours volunteering
pharm tech
good ps/lors 🙂
interviewed on 1/14

I had my interview on Wednesday and I asked when we would be hearing back about being accepted or not. I was told that they would be giving offers throughout March (although it appears earlier now), and that there would be a general correlation between interview time and when you would receive word on acceptance. However, I was also told that if you really great credentials you would probably hear earlier. No worries guys, there is still plenty of time!

That being said, now that there are acceptances being handed out, I'm going to be checking my e-mail religously.

Yeah, pretty standard.. I've seen as "low" as $500 to as high as $2000... $1000 is average I'd say!

Not looking forward to paying it though.... oye vey! haha.

Hey does anyone know how wayne is going about admitting people because it seems like they are admitting the ones who interviewed first. I interviewed on the second date. this is driving me crazy! lol

Hey, I want to know how you did too =)

Last year, people got accepted days after the inteview but this year, seems the first batch got accepted on the same day so I don't think they're doing it on a rolling basis.

My guess is they're accepting who they think are the best first and are then going to wait to find out how many decline before accepting more so they don't overfill. I'm also guessing the last batch will then either get accepted, wait listed, or declined in late March. Everyone else waits until then.

Anyone hear anything new? Does the admission committee meet once a week? This is one thing I hate about all this, no one knows anything I call the school I get transfered around until I get transfered back to the first person who tells me to send an email and when I do NO ONE responses What the hell 😡

i don't like their way handling emails. i feel they are rude when they try to respond to their emails. they started interviewing not too long ago so this is why their process is slow.

I love the school but this is not right, they need to fix all this. Setup a portal so the applicants have an idea on what is going on!!! It is not that hard
 
I really hope we hear back soon.. this is nerve-wracking. It's even worse than waiting for an interview. Have they only accepted the first interview date?

How many interview dates were there so far? Are there any left?

My letter came today!! Thank goodness lol. And now for that $1000...do you know if any of the deposit is applied to our tuition. The last school I sent a deposit to, which was just $500, applied the whole amount towards tuition.
 
Hi. I am a junior in high school and new here. I have just started my college search and Wayne State is on my list. I read that they have an early assurance program for those right out of high school. Does anyone know anything more about that? For those of you who like Wayne State, can you list some reasons? My mom is worried because it is in Detroit.
One last question- was it hard to volunteer and get good grades your first years in college?

I can't comment on the EAP but it's not hard volunteering and doing well in classes the first year. I wouldn't do too much volunteering though because studying and getting good grades is more important. I had a good adviser who recommended keeping loads low to get used to everything. I would recommend that approach. The second year was harder for me. My Prof calls it the Sophmore slump and says it's a statistically significant event. I could go on about WSU and Detroit but it's best you check it out in person. I know they give tours.

international (canada)
cgpa 3.74
pcat 92!

didnt take too long after my interview

No!!! Dont worry .. they are still hosting interviews are they not. and I was expecting to hear back end of march or so. I wouldnt count myself out yet if i were you.

Well I interviewed on Feb 17th and so did other people on here. So far two people who interviewed on that day have received the good news. I still have not received any word. Which can only mean one thing...
 
I got the email two days ago. Accepted!! I also interviewed on the 17th... and I also was getting more and more discouraged as each day went by when I didn't hear anything.

Don't freak out just yet. If you don't get accepted right away, you still have a good chance of being wait-listed. For many people who interviewed, Wayne wasn't their first choice, so keep your chin up!

No don't worry, seriously. I was specifically told not to freak out if people I knew got accepted. They will be giving out offers during the month of March, so you still have a good chance of hearing something
