Hi,

I have been working on the Wayne State secondary. Compared to my other secondaries, it proving to be a lot of work. I was hoping to get some tips. I am having trouble specifically answering at least one of the Group II questions:

Group II.
A. What individual (excluding family members) has had the most influence on your life and why?
B. Describe your toughest challenge in life thus far and how you handled it.
C. What has been the most significant event or accomplishment in your life and why?

I have had some achievements in life, but their mostly academic or research-oriented. I thought about saying that completing my electrical engineering degree was my greatest achievement, but that seems like it would be too generic. And I can't think of any compelling life-altering challenges or individuals (with the exception of family members) that have influenced me in the most profound way.

Any advice?

Honestly, if you have a super gpa, and good mcat, and regular EC's, don't worry about sounding unique or exceptional via the secndarys. Just don't make urself sound suspiscious in ur 2ndaries. i'd say talk about your engineering degree and just be honestt about it in why u consider ur greatest achievement.

be honest, be humble, and be real. It'll depend on who's reading it..if I become an adcom one day, that's what I'd look for.

I put my religious conversion experience during the college, along with some of works (some medically related, some not) I have done along with it for that question. I did not just talk about one brief moment or achievement, but talked more about how those experiences made who I am right now.
Don't get too stressed out about essays. I thought my essays were just mediocre, but I did have an interview there. Great school btw.
Good luck!!!
