My chem goggles fog up every 1-2 minutes and it's extremely annoying. Any ways to prevent this?

Buy ones with the air vents on the side and top of the googles, not just tiny holes all over it. If you have the heavy duty ones, then they fog up like crazy regardless.

SCUBA divers sometimes use toothpaste to keep their goggles from fogging. Just scrub it on the inside and rinse it off. Might be a cheap solution. Just don't use the more abrasive types of toothpaste. Standard Crest or Colgate would be best.

another scuba trick is to rub a little spit on the inside. Not the most attractive option, but it'll work in a pinch.

your goggles will smell minty fresh, too.

I recommend the fog-proof spray stuff. I used to swim competitively and I never could get the spit trick to work for me. Another thing is that if you are using the old crappy goggles that they provide you at the lab, they fog up really easily because they're old and scratched -- I recommend the purchase of a new pair. At my university they sell goggles in the supply stockroom for like $2.50; well worth the investment to not be miserable over the semester.

yes, this definitely works

Loosen them up on your noggin.

wow, $2.50, that's cheap. we sell them for $6. although they're nice ones, not the fishy looking ones. the ones we sell look kinda like the aviator sunglasses, instead of the huge goggles that look like you could go swimming with, the ones that used to come with the nose stopper hting. but those are for loan only. most people opt to buy them, seeing as how you can only take them out twice a semester.

Stop breathing...

It'll solve everything...

Ski shops sell reusable anti-fog pads that work great on my ski goggles, though I never tried them for chemistry lab.
