For those of you who have already interviewed, what were your responses to the question "What are some of your weakness"?

I know this is a very common question, but you obviously don't want to name off a list of weaknesses, since you are trying to convince them to accept you, not the opposite. Would it seem too cocky or over-confident if you said you didn't feel you had any weaknesses as an applicant?

I was asked this question at all three of my interviews and I told them that my biggest weakness was overcommitment. That way it shows that you try to do a lot; although a weakness, it could be construed as a good attribute.

I don't think you should say you have no weaknesses. I think they ask this question because they are looking for people who are humble.

I think I answered this question by saying I am a bit too sensitive and sometimes read too much into what some people say or do to me (which is the case, but has become less and less since I have started rotations).

I'm impatient and I talk too much. (per my wife)

Answering this question is interview techniques 101. You should state a weakness that the interviewer can interpret as a strength, much like the previous poster who stated "overcommittment" as his weakness.

Everyone has weaknesses. Don't make them up to sound "humble"...just admitting that you have them means you realize that there are things in your life that you can improve upon.

When I was asked this question, did I be honest and tell them that sometimes I get lazy and want to sit on my butt and watch TV in stead of study? No. Did I tell them how I would rather follow a good looking girl across campus even if I am late for class? No.

I told them how when asked by a friend for help, I often can't deny them despite being behind in schoolwork, late for a meeting, or something like that.

Also be sure to know how you will improve on that weakness.

Now when people ask me for help I pretend like I don't speak english.
