Weather and cancelled flights

With all of the storms coming through up north these past few weeks, has anyone had difficulty making interviews due to cancelled flights? Is there a protocol in place for contacting programs?

I have 4 interviews next week in 4 different cities on 4 consecutive days. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Not really, I would just contact the coordinator as soon as possible. I had a couple of interviews ruined by inclement weather, most coordinators are very pleasant in arranging alternate plans (remember to stay patient and cordial throughout the process)

Does it look bad to miss a tour after the interviews are finished? I have a flight that I would probably miss if I stayed for the whole tour. This is the only flight that gives me the chance to attend the pre-interview dinner the same night at another program. Thanks for the advice!

This probably varies from program to program but at most of them, I would confidently guess it definitely looks bad. As residents, we routinely were asked by attendings to observe the applicants in between the interviews:

Who's not talking with others in the room? Who's sociable? Who's awkward?
Who's playing on their phone? Who's actually interested?
Who would seem like a good fit for this program? (Everyone who is at the interview qualifies academically. The question now becomes from an interest/personality/fit-into-the-current-culture level, who is the best fit?)

I would highly recommend picking which program you like better (admittedly this is an easier task performed after interviewing but sometimes we don't have that luxury). If it's the first program, I'd recommend staying for the tour. If it's the second program, I'd recommend skipping the tour and attending the pre-interview dinner. You are likely to hear different advice regarding the pre-interview dinner and I certainly skipped a couple on the interview trail as well. Again, at the program I ended up matching in, the dinner counts. It's a chance to make an impression among tens of other applicants so you don't want to miss that opportunity if that is a program you're more interested in.
