Hello,

I recently had my research PI write me a letter of recommendation but instead of sending it to interfolio, he sent it to via email attachment. I have not looked at it because I know it is against the rules. I have emailed him multiple times explaining him the situation but he has not responded. What should I do?

It is not against the rules. If you have "waived your right" to see the letter, that does not mean you cannot read it if offered. It simply means you cannot demand to read it after they have submitted it. I would send it to a letter service, as was mentioned, or perhaps just forward it to the schools.

No don't send it to the schools directly from you. They will not accept it -or they'll note that it was not confidential-and then you'll have/want to get a new letter.

Can you not go see him in person and talk to him?

I'm assuming Interfolio doesn't list the email it was sent from so as others have said just send it in and don't worry about it.

Okay thank you for the information

And no, I can't see because my school is about a 7 hour drive from where I now work and live
