The school which I will be attending this fall has a special program that I am very interested in. I applied for the program last cycle and I got an interview, but I ended up deferring. This cycle, I did not get an interview invite and I'm super bummed out. I know I'm not entitled to an interview just because I got one before, but my friends keep telling me I should talk to them anyway and ask. I can't help but wonder what if. Should I let them know that I was invited to interview last year? I think I know the answer, but I want to hear expert opinions.
What’s special program?

Sorry let me clarify. I was accepted into the general MD program. Then invited to interview for an optional pathway. I did not interview for the pathway because I was in the process of submitting my deferral request. My deferral was approved. A year later, I applied to the same optional pathway program and was denied an interview.
So did you defer the medical school acceptance or the program?

You deferred the program the first year but then the second year of medical school you wanted it?

I deferred the MD admission. They decided there was no point in me interviewing for the program then and to reapply the following year.

You could express interest in the program again and state that you've been exposed to it before but I'd be wary about saying "I got an interview there last year" since as Goro said it could come off a little entitled even if you don't mean that way.
