Please help us welcome @neusu as the latest member of the SDN volunteer staff. Over the next few days to weeks he'll be learning the ropes and focusing most of his moderation in the well behaved Neurosurgery forum as well as the Allopathic forum (not so well behaved :p ).

In honor of our newest moderator, I'm just really concerned about a few things...

I mean, really, how exactly is it fair that URMs can get in with lower stats? I thought we were a meritocracy in this country? I just don't understand how med students can have die-ins on their campus when we allow for such reverse racism. I mean wouldn't a much better solution would be to have these low stat students go to the obviously inferior DO schools where they can be sorted out and prevented from top NYC IM programs? We should probably really ask why these DO students even exist when there are perfectly good Caribbean schools there to educate people who are just as smart as any American student, but maybe had some fun in college and gained some social skills unlike all those LCME dorks who probably are all still virgins and clearly lack social skills. I mean, how did these people not see that all this is a slippery slope toward Obama ruining medicine in a government takeover of the autonomy of medicine?

...good luck, new moderator.

Neurosurgery moderator #2?????

Congrats!

I highly enjoyed reading through and keeping up with your neurosurgery thread in pre-allo!

This forum needs a mod like it needs a hole in the head...

Oh... wait...

[Does the ortho mods constantly ask the IM mods for help?]

No.

The ortho mod constantly convinces the IM mod to do his work for him.

There's a difference.
There's definitely a difference.

Contrary to the widely perceived notion that orthopods are stupid, in reality you are quite crafty in convincing others that you cannot possibly handle the complexities of postoperative fluid and electrolyte balance or rewriting for home medications.

That is awesome news. The neurosurg subforum is dead and has been for years, I am excited someone of his caliber will be taking over down there.

I have considered asking to be made mod a couple times but I value being snarky and calling stupid out when I see it. I would have to reign myself in a bit too much I think...
