So this is my first post. and i am posting after only my second reject. albeit, i decided later in college to try to get into dental school, but i really want to get in. my stats:

BA Education
total gpa: 3.47
science: 3.28
DAT: BIO15 GC17 OC17 PAT15 RC19 QR 14

applied to 7 schools (ucla, ucsf, loma linda, western pomona, ATStill, Midwestern, and Nova.

rejects: LLU, UCSF (ucla, but i didnt bother with the secondary. i didnt feel like going back to my old high school)

4 more to go.

btw, how would you tell (if you would tell) the schools that you got into a serious car wreck one week prior to the DAT?

I'm gonna retake the dat, and i know i am gonna reapply and take a masters program. any other advice?

Your GPA is borderline too low (I know this b/c it's about the same as mine was). I would say you definitely need to rock the DAT, apply early, and apply to more schools. It would also increase your chances quite a bit if you did well in a postbac. program like an SMP. Having that extra science background when you didn't major in science for undergrad will help you a lot in dental school. Best of luck to you. If you really want to be a dentist, you will do what you need to do to get in. 👍🙂

Your GPA is fine but your DAT is too low. Your AA and TS is around 16 which is just not enough with your GPA. You need 20+, apply early, and if you have the money for a one year masters, that should help. Getting into a car wreck a week before your DAT will not gain any pity points, you could have rescheduled your DAT.
