i interviewed on July 10th and still havent heard back. should i chalk this up to a rejection because its so late and school starts in Aug?

Depends on what they told you about contacting you after your interview. They may say a week or two weeks or more for the final word. There's no way to tell and no one here can predict what is happening. Give the school office a call and see what they say. It doesn't hurt you to call them. They should have contacted you within a specified time frame and let you know as any school should do, unless something terrible has happened. Just don't wait, especially this late.

Western is a joke. They never even told me if I got in or not, they told me they hadn't made a decision concerning my app back in April and I never heard back even though they said I should hear something in a month. I would have been on their case if I really wanted to go there, but I already gave my acceptance somewhere else so I didn't bother. But their complete lack of professionalism really put me off the school

I also can't understand why they would even be giving interviews this late in the cycle, it's absurd. What do they think students are supposed to do with such little time left to get things in order? You have to find a place to live which can take a really long time, get all your background check/immunization stuff in order, and if you are moving from a different state there's a whole bunch of other issues you have to deal with that slowly reveal themselves as you go through the moving process.

I thought the Western staff was extremely helpful and accessible. Overall, it was one of my best experiences and I thought very highly of the school (I'm not going there).

Yeah i emailed them and they said it would be one/two weeks till the made their final decision, i just wanted to know if this is normal this late in the game.

Well I am in the same shoes as some mentioned in this thread. Western is my number 1 choice and would love to attend, but this late in the game I feel like it ain't gonna happen. Even if I was to be accepted today, I would not even be able to put in a proper two weeks notice at my job!! I don't understand their strategy either, because it seems like they would lose out on some potential (quality) students by waiting so late to give responses 😕

I applied on the last day that we could and about 2 weeks after I interviewed I started school at Western. There are typically spots available or else they wouldn't have interviewed you. That being said they probably have limited spots and want to ensure that they get a quality applicant. Don't lose hope until they notify you.

not to be a heartbreaker, but at this point you have an extremely unlikely chance on getting accepted into western. Currently welcome week has started and convocation is this weekend. Granted something could possible happen and a current student could just leave. good luck.
