Western & MCPHS Interview Invites?

Has anyone received an interview invitation to Western or MCPHS recently? I applied back in early December, and the schools received my OptomCAS applications mid-December. My application files are complete and ready to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee at both schools. Just anxiously waiting the results... Does anyone know when and how often the admission committee meets at these schools, or when the next committee meeting at either of these schools will be?

Btw, My GPA is 3.3 and OAT TS 330 AA 330, and have plenty of shadowing and work experience with OD's and Ophthalmologists. Do you think applying in December is too late? I also applied to other schools, but Western and MCPHS replied first regarding the status of my application.

With those numbers, don't waste your time with either of those, or any new school.

I understand the risk, and I have applied to other schools. If I don't get interview invites with these two schools, then I feel I won't get interview invites at the other established schools I applied to (SCCO, SCO, NECO).

I applied there because I am a psychology major and I like their neurology-based program and I have heard good things about the curriculum and instructors from two friends-of-friends that I know who are currently attending Western. I personally think they have the potential to become a great school.

My GPA is a little higher than yours (about 3.65ish), OAT TS 330 and AA 350. Western just received my application last week and I have an interview there next week. They are not my top choice school by any means but I don't think you should fret at all! You are well within the average range of NECO and definitely some other schools. December is not that late, I know some people who are thinking of applying in February. If you have any questions about your school choices feel free to message me, as they were/are mine as well 🙂

Hi TwelveSixteen, how are you handling transportation to and from airport/hotel/school? I'm having trouble finding a good shuttle or cab, and since my flight is only two hours after the interviewing is over I need to make sure I get to Ontario International on time. Thanks!

Hello there! Sorry... Where is Ontario International? And which school are you referring to?

Oops, sorry, I meant for Western University of Health Scientists. Ontario International is about 10 miles East of the campus, so I just chose a hotel in walking distance to the campus. I've been looking at cab and shuttle services, but so far none of them seem particularly reliable 🙁
