I was recently accepted to both PCOM and Western/COMP and was hoping for some advice on which school people think is better. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It seems like everyone posts "Western vs _____" . . . does every single person on this planet get accepted to Western? Just commenting . . . I don't actually have any advice for the OP. I didn't get a chance to interview at PCOM, so I couldn't compare. I'm sure you'll get a great education at either school. Good luck with your decision.

Whatever is best for you, is the best. If you have been accepted to both, the most important factor to consider: Proximity to those you love. The rest you can do yourself with good grades and board scores.

Yeah. For people that have been following COMP threads, you remember that there were people that stated that they weren't accepted and they actually continued to bash the school for a while after that.

COMP's acceptance rate is about 20%, which is not low for a med school but you're not going to get the other 80% of people admitting to it on this forum.

People are asking about Western because it has a strong program and they are trying to make up their minds. I'd be worried if Western doesn't get these comparison threads, like many other schools. Especially we all know that there basically is no DO dream school(like Harvard or insert what you want) that requires no 2nd guessing at all. Maybe some of the state DO schools can get a psuedo dream school response from its applicants because of the tuition, but that's about it.

To answer the OP, assuming you'll get a similar education and you'll study equally hard at both places, where do you feel comfortable living? and where do you want to do your residency? Hopfully asking those questions could asnwer some of your questions....
