Have not been hear in long time so again hello and godbless

I just wonder why Western University of Health sciences has abuut 1 month of extra school each semester than the other schools and why is theree this descrepancy>? I wud think that each school should have the same acadmics calender and what are they cover in this extra time? Is this why I here all lots of bad things about western school?

For you those who go to other schools tell me please what your day is and how many minutes n hours of class you have.

At WesternU our schedule is shared with the DO class. We take all the systems, which are catered to boards for the USLME/COMLEX. I think our 2nd semester of the 1st year is the longest semester you will ever experience (from early January to the middle June). After that semester we get 2 months off for a summer break! Some schools have class in the summer, so no school has a perfect schedule. All the other semesters are are about 4 mo each.
If you are not into a 6mo long semester then you shouldn't apply to WesternU, but I think other schools makeup for the extra long semester elsewhere.
I haven't heard too much trash talk concerning WesternU (probably bc I go here), but I think any school has people who complain about it.
We recently changed our curriculum for the system courses seen in the 2nd semester of the 1st yr and all of 2nd yr, where we have a lot more "free time".

Hmm seems to me like that way that can have a prof teach the DO and Pod classes at the same time. Double the money the school makes.

I was trolling the Western U website and honestly, I have to say it looks to me like a money making machine. They have every single health degree there ( except for MD, thank god there is a single health field that have higher standards) and it looks suspicious to me that this new school pops up and immediately offers everything from master so health science to pod to dental to DO to psychology.

Then I checked out the tuition and i was blown away. EVERY FIELD IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER SCHOOLS! This is ridiculous and smells like Health Everest.

maybe I need to be more detailed. Yes, it has been around for years for the vet degree, bu in terms of Pod and Dental, they still have not graduated their first class.

I don't know about the DO program but I am sure it is pretty recent also.

Please check your facts before posting. The DO class was the very first college opened and started in 1977.

And yes western does seem like a money maknig machine. Why do they open a optometry school when there is one already in fullerton and the feild is already oversaturated. I feel sorry for those students who graduate and get ****ty job

This is your father Gloin. you need to get of these forums and go check on the goats, they are running around again.

No for the most part other schools don't have such a heavy schedule. Yes it is very difficult and yes we are like the ugly step children compared to the DO students. That being said we also have a all star group of podiatrists teaching our podiatry courses. Our Dean even wrote the friggin foreword for the podiatry Bible (McGlamry's). I'm not saying I love all our professors (I Don't) but the education is exceptional. If you want an easy podiatry education go somewhere else!
