Western Univ interview invite before secondary completed

i received an interview invite from western asking me to sign up for a interview day before even sending in a secondary app. the secondary app is attached to the email, however, and, according to the email, i have to submit it along with LORs prior to the interview day.

this process seems odd, with scheduling an interview prior to submitting a secondary. has anyone else received this email from Western? i'm sort of hesistant to sign up because i've been reevaluating the whole DO route....

i received the same interview invite pre-secondary. i scheduled mine on 09/27 i think. just make sure u submit the secondary before the interview day.

I'm currently a western student and that is how I had received my interview as well. I remember some people turned in their secondaries when they came in for their interview, but I suggest you turn it in earlier because it'll look better on your part.

Pre-secondary interviews aren't unusual at all. Some osteopathic medical schools do that. I wouldn't infer too much from this process; it's just how these particular schools do things. If you think you might like the school, then follow through with it. An interview isn't one-sided. Both the school and the interviewee are evaluating each other and both tend to be looking for a good fit.

However, it seems that this isn't merely about pre-secondary interviews; based on your post, it appears that you are having doubts about becoming a DO. Well, that's a different bag of worms... Only you know what's right for you and only you know if the DO route will be the most optimal for you. Nevertheless, it certainly doesn't hurt to explore and attend an interview if you are at all interested. I like gathering data, such as that gained from attending an interview, in making decisions of this sort of magnitude.
