Dear Western Admin,

Please notify us of our status via e-mail. It will keep us from going completely insane while waiting for a
letter. It will also prevent a lot of calls from crazy sdners wanting to know their status. I am really
thinking about everyone's sanity here and to prevent the phones from ringing non-stop.

MONDAY!?!?! ughhhhh. Hopefully that means they will be sending emails even sooner! haha. wishful thinking. On the bright side it only took two days to get from there to chicago last year
 
Alright, I'm going insane. I think this might be another case of "no one knows what the hell is going on", because I just called and was told that admission info was in the process of being mailed out now, and we'd know IN THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO.
 
If it's in the process of being mailed out NOW why in the world would it take two weeks....I hate how they tell 500 different stories. I kind of want to call to see what the next bogus tale will be.

I just tried called two different numbers and no one answered. SO that means that they are totally writing the email that will be sent out to everyone! hopefully
 
To add a little to the conspiracy theories.... 🙂

Another (to remain unnamed cough cough) school said we'd "get our letters Monday" so we assumed it would just be snail mail letters and we'd have to wait (seemingly, the school's way of getting students to stop calling in), but in truth, we received e-mails that night, and snail mail letters came as predicted. So.... technically they were telling the truth, but without giving an exact time.... maybe a pattern? Maybe we'll get e-mails tonight or tomorrow, and the snail mail letters next week? Am I being too hopeful.....? 🙂

i just re-read last year's thread and feel like I'm going to barf because i thought it was 2009 and I was like HEY I didn't get any email. then I realized it was only the 11th.

I think we'll hear either tonight or tomorrow via email.

I think I need to pull myself away from SDN, its driving me insane!
 
First I'd like to apologize in advance for bumping the thread up lol.... Secondly I'd have to theorize that no one at Western is going to want to answer over 200 calls on Monday from anxious people wanting to know when the letters are coming out. It probably would be wise to inform us before the deadline date. Just a thought though...I'm sure I'll think of 100 other scenarios before the night is over 🙂
 
I'm sure they will be good and annoyed when all 300 people call them on monday demanding to know why we haven't heard anything yet by the deadline they specifically gave us! Better get on those emails!
 
Ok here's my take on it.

After some forum stalking 😎, I found that letters were mailed for the class seated in 2007 and 2008. They seem to have received these letters sometime between the 16th and 19th of March. Last year, they emailed letters on the 12th and 13th and the letters were received in the mail postmarked on the 13th.

So maybe they're thinking, "wow, it was a lot nicer at the admissions office last year that we didn't get a million phone calls because we sent out emails a couple of days before the letters were due in their mailboxes...we should do that again this year."

The sensible thing then would be for them to follow suit with last year and send emails tonight and tomorrow and send out the letters in the mail earlier today so that it will arrive in people's mailboxes on Saturday and Monday (not in two weeks as someone posted earlier...unless an actual snail was delivering it).
 
Thats a great theory too! Theories get better and better as my margarita glass grows emptier! Refill!!

I think I am going crazy...I don't know how I will fall asleep. I've resorted to just reading old threads about Western to pass the time, lol

doing the same......went and saw a movie where i was forced to turn my phone off and avoid checking my email for a full 2 hours! now i right back to it! this is gonna kill me

I was pretty tired tonight and fell asleep watching the office.. at 9:30pm. I know I'm an old lady.

So I woke up at 5:55am and was like okay here it goes. Loaded gmail on my phone and ugghhh no email from Western. TONIGHT THEN!

I had to keep tricking myself like a little kid waiting for Santa. The sooner I go to sleep the sooner CHristmas will be here! BUT NO! I am up and nothing! AHHHAARRRGGG!!!!! This is ridiculous. You know they know. SEND IT OUT! This is just mean.
 
Not to add to anyone's obsession, but has anyone tried that email thing from the old threads? I'm too scared to find out if it works or not, lol, but apparently you might be able to sign into your email (if your name is john doe, your username would be jdoe) and then put in some weird initial password that has to do with your initials and birthday??
 
Don't know if that will work. Last year they sen a letter giving us a username and password in a letter telling us we can check the status of our application. And the password, if I remember correctly, was some obscure set of numbers.

I really hope it comes tonight, the anxiety is killing me. At least my husband is finding things for us to do at night so I'm not obcessing about it. Although, I kind of am in my head and I sneak a peak every time I can on SDN on my phone. These days are lasting forever! Can we seriously just go to sleep until it gets here? I can't take it anymore!

Yeah, I remember the Banweb thing last year...i'm talking about from the acceptance letter they received last year (someone posted it on last years thread) and it gave details on how to sign on to your email. yeah, i'm probably just obsessing too much!
 
I think my philosophy tonight, since last night sucked, will be to assume that they forgot to include me on the mailing list, and therefore ignoring the whole situation will allow me to sleep.

Great idea in theory...not sure how it will actually work out in practice, lol!

I think I'm going to go crazy if they make us wait till next week to find out!
 
Let me know how that pretending that you aren't waiting to hear from vet school thing goes for you. haha.
 
Well there will be other supplemental, or adjunct therapies such as wine, etc. Thankfully still have one more option open with news coming in a few weeks, but want this one! The meaning of the word mercy comes to mind!
 
Call up western and scream UNCLE! haha. If you drink enough wine you can time travel to tomorrow.
 
Ok they really need to just hit the send button. Not so hard, cut, paste, insert "accepted to c/o 2014, send. See? That's not so bad.

So the first person who hears needs to start a Western C/O 2014 thread so we know! And please post the arrival method, etc, so we don't have to ask!

I'm alive. I've started just refreshing this page instead of my e-mail. I'm pretty sure we're all so obsessed, that I'll get the news here first.

I agree scrchvy, this way we won't have heart attacks whenever we see this thread bumped up.
Also check your usps mailboxes just in case, I'm at work until later today and won't be able to stalk the mailman.
Oh maybe someone can call again today just to see what new story that have.

Hi everyone -- I've been a big time lurker here and thought I'd pop in just to provide some news that it looks like acceptance emails have gone out. I received mine today! Hopefully you all find some good news coming your way soon as well.
