hello everyone,

yes another one of these threads... I'm having a hard time deciding between western and SOMA. I love the SOMA curriculum, but western is well established. I believe neither has rotations in Chicago which is where I'm from and want to go back to the first chance I get. Nothing against cali or az I just love Chicago. Any input is welcome and thanks in advance!

For pretty much any school, you'll have time during the 4th year to rotate just about anywhere (you have to set up the rotation yourself but it shouldn't be a big deal).

FWIW, Western does send people back East for residency if that's something important to you. I don't know anything about SOMA's past match lists* but I'm sure that if you do well grade-wise, it'd be possible to do the same.

*yes, yes, don't put too much stock in match lists blahblahblah.

thanks a lot! i was confused about the 4th year rotations. this helps make it clearer.

From what I understand about Western, they have a semester of basic science classes then followed by systems based curriculum. Is this true? Are they also P/F?

For SOMA, how do rotations work? From what I understand, you pick a location at the beginning via a lottery and then you do 3rd year rotations and maybe 4th(?) at that location. Is this correct? How do these sites compare to COMPs?
