So I'm looking at doing a 1 year masters at Western or Touro-AZ. These academic years for the 1 year programs are masters that run from August to August.

Do I apply to Med Schools while I am still getting my masters, or do I need to wait a year for the NEXT cycle after getting MS?

Thank you!

Depends on situation. If you think you can get into med school but want the backup option of attending an SMP to increase your chances for the 2nd time around, you would apply while attending. You would also apply if the SMP has a high linkage program.

From what I gather, most people have a glide year and will apply the coming cycle since they will have a year's worth of upper level classes that mimic med school to give them a leg up in the application cycle.

Oops, sorry. That isn't quite what I meant. What am I asking is this:
Let's say I am accepted into a Masters program (MSMS) @ Western. The program runs from August 2013 to August 2014. Would I apply to med schools in June 2014 (while still getting masters, but have completed 1 semester) or June 2015?

Thanks
