So they are allowing you to apply then even with the mishap with the prereq form???? If so, yay!😀

Correct!! I am not sure what occurred that resulted in their reconsideration, but I am pleased. Spent a lot of time on those essays.

Oh, and I think I am a good fit for their program, of course.

hey all,
question. on your application summary on the checklist thing, does it say anything on the "Note" column next to Prerequisite Worksheet?
also, did anyone else's page change to include "Status" as another column next to the "Note" column?

...waiting has made me crazy.

I have a "status" column next to the "note" column (although there is nothing in status), and no notes by my prereq worksheet. Does yours?

same here =) empty "Notes" for prereq and nothing at all in status column

but the status column is new, right?

Is anyone else thinking that the first batch of invites might go out next week as they did last year...?

Not to alarm everyone, but I received my interview on Dec 10th, it was a friday, and also they do it in batches so if you do not receive it then, do not worry at all there are more batches to come.

Wow, that is coming up really soon. I am getting nervous now because my application summary is not showing my GRE scores from the revised test that I took in August, only my first set of scores from 2010 (it was a major improvement that I think could really affect my app.). I was told they are definitely taking the Revised scores, so I am worried that they may not have received it. Is anyone else having this issue? I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and time since I have already been bombarding them with emails throughout the process because they lost one of my transcripts and had problems opening my prereq worksheet through EDS (all finally resolved).

The same thing happened to me. Only my GRE scores from 2009 are showing up but I just took it a couple months ago. They told me the same thing, so I think it is fine. Hopefully!!! 🙂

I think I preferred it last year when all we got was an "application complete" and not a funky, buggy status-page imitation.

Well, shoot. I just got this email a few hours ago in response to my inquiry about the revised test scores: "We did not accept the revised GRE this year as scores were not available until well after our deadline. However, if you submitted them they will be added to your file after the file has been processed and reviewed by the Admissions Committee. To ensure fairness of all applicants the committee will not be considering revised GRE scores in their review of applications.* I will check with our EDS department on Monday to see if the revised score report has been received."

This is after I was told they were accepting them when I called to ask back in September. That really hurts. I am so sorry to everyone else that was banking on those scores as well 🙁

Hmmmm. When I talked to Lacey in September, she said the new test was NOT going to be accepted. I think they should have made this clearer on their website.

Hi all, I'm just taking a study break for finals...
Just wanted to wish everyone luck. I know you are all on the edge of your seats waiting for those interview invites. I can't believe that it has been 2 years since I have been in your shoes stalking this forum like crazy.
As gsi924 said, last year's invites came out early-mid December whic was surprisingly earlier. During my cycle, they came out mid-January. But don't worry if you don't get one right away, I got mine mid-February when the interviews were already being held. I re-read that thread last night and I remembered what a wreck I was seeing everyone else already finished with their interviews and not having an invite yet.
Well when finals are over, (12/13) I'll check back on here. Hopefully you will have gotten your invites and I can try to help answer questions about the school/interview process.

Does anyone know when Western will be sending out invites this year?? I''m getting :scared:

So you don't think it could be today (Friday 12/9) ?

Dont you mean tomorrow 😀 (I live on socal time, and why is it warmer in NY than Hermosa Beach I may ask?!?!?!)

I really hope we hear on Friday! Would make that rejection from that other school seem less prominent!

is anyone brave enough to call and ask? 😛 i certainly am not brave enough...

I called and Lacey said she will have someone post an update/info sometime soon. Relax!🙂👍:luck:

I think that only 3 are allowed, and the first 3 listed on the VMCAS are the ones that they take.
Hi there! We will accept all letters of recommendation submitted through VMCAS. If a certain does not show it is because the system only allows three to show in the Banweb portal. If you just want to check and see who we have give us a call!

My situation lends me to agree wholeheartedly. Several months ago I worked with their admissions adviser to complete the pre-req worksheet. She e-mailed me a copy of the form, said that everything was is good standing and encouraged me to apply this cycle. I submitted my VMCAS, eLORs, supplemental, transcripts, GRE scores and application fee on time. Everything seemed in order. The tracking page was not accessible until the day of the deadline after I submitted supplemental. I had hopped on a plane and was flying out to Philly to be with my ailing mother and tend to her surrogate needs. I found out the following day that my application would not be reviewed by Western due to the fact that I had not re-submitted the Pre-Req worksheet. A mere formality that simply re-states information that they already possess in my transcripts and that their own staff member had completed for me. I made the mistake of thinking that the previously prepared worksheet, an identical form to the one missing, would be placed in my file for review. I have contacted the school in hopes of seeking an alternative resolution to this situation. It is frustrating to be deemed ineligible after so many years of work and preparation. And to not even be considered due to what seems to be the smallest of technicalities makes it harder to swallow. My hopes of the school re-considering their position are gone and I am resigned to hoping that one of my other four apps are successful. Welcome to the machine. Sucks to be a tiny cog, or even worse, just a number.... :xf:
Hello! It is my sincerest apology that you are feeling like just a number. We did our best to work with applicants especially with our new system and online forms. Were you given the opportunity to submit the missing document? If not, please e-mail me at [email protected] and we will see what we can do for you.

Hello there!

The committee is currently reviewing completed applications in the order they are completed. As decisions are made on the files they are returned to the Admissions office. Invitations will begin going out the week of December 12th and will continue to do so as the files are returned from file review. Please do not panic if you do not receive an invitation next week. There is no ranking or scoring order for the interview invitations.

If you have not yet received an e-mail from your admissions counselor indicating your application is complete and being sent for review rest assured that you will still be considered. Your application will be sent for review as soon as it has been processed and deemed complete.

Interviews are scheduled for the following dates in the spring: January 28, 30, and 31st; February 4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14. If selected for an interview you will be provided two dates to choose from. Additionally, interviews slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We wish all of those that applied to Western this year the best of luck. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or simply to calm your anxieties.

Thanks, Karen. And yes, I was afforded the opportunity to submit the document and appreciated such consideration. I pondered updating the status of my situation here, but was trying to be sympathetic to others with differing circumstances. Hope you're well. 🙂

Wow, thank you so much, Karen + staff. Now I can breathe this weekend and focus on studying for a final that I have on Monday.

I'm always so impressed with the way that the Western admissions staff comes here and responds to people. 🙂
Just so you know, Western students are lurking here also, so if you have questions that aren't related to admissions, we'd be happy to answer them.

I am sending out my fall transcripts and was wondering if Western requires them? I don't want to make anyone mad by adding to their huge load of paperwork lol. Does anyone know?

Yes and thankfully I am not ashamed to send them out lol. I accidentally signed up for a 7 credit biochemistry course (oops) and got through it along with Animal Nutrition and a 50hr/wk+ job!
I noticed a lot of schools are requiring transcripts by Jan 9th... what are you even supposed to do besides order them as soon as possible?! I'm hoping mine get out quick! I can't afford $30 per transcript and plane tickets to interviews :-/

Wow good for you (tough classes plus all those work hours 👍) !! Transcripts from my school are free thank goodness! I'm just going to send them out as soon as I get my grades in, I hope they get there in time.. there's really nothing else I can do!

I'm just finishing up my third animal nutrition class (A's in all three) so hopefully at least one school finds that impressive and decides to interview me! :luck:

The transcripts were free for me as well, but they had a $30 rush option. $30x12 schools = way too much money! lol. Here's to hoping schools are decently flexible about what dates they arrive.

They probably stop by to check out the latest in the Western vs. UC-Davis thread debacle.

That was so ridiculous! I just read it for the first time and literally had to close it out. Just READING the tension was annoying the crap out of me lol :smack:

Great, now I won't get anything done this week because I'll be glued to my email and obsessively checking my phone. 🙂

I'm right there with you! My phone battery will probably be completely worn down by mid afternoon tomorrow. Hopefully I don't break it by checking too obsessively over the next few weeks 🙄 I am so excited to hear something... anything! Western will likely be my first feedback of this application cycle.

*twiddles thumbs*

*bites fingernails*

Anyone heard anything yet...? I'm starting to get fidgety...

I haven't heard anything either.. Has everyone got the 'application complete' email? I haven't even received that...😎

I got an email yesterday saying ...

"I am pleased to inform you that your application is complete pending work in progress and will be sent to the admissions committee for review!

Interviews will be held late January...."

If that helps anyone.

Omg so we were supposed to get a confirmation email???

I just got an email that they received my supplemental app back in October, but never got a notification about my application being complete. My application summary on their website, however, does say it is complete. As long as your app summary says it is complete, I think you are safe.

wait what words does it actually say next to "Application Status"
?

"Application Materials Received"

Everybody really needs to calm down a bit. 😎

Congrats for everyone who got an interview invite today!!!! As I turned in my app THE DAY BEFORE IT WAS DUE, I'm suspecting I will be the last to hear. Just curious, when did you guys turn in your supplementals? I haven't even gotten the app complete yet lol

I submitted my supplemental at the beginning of September and the VMCAS on September 19.... I received the "Application Complete" email on October 7.
