I am hoping to get to MHA program in 2010 which is 2 year duration.
If I get in DO school this cycle, I would have spent 1 year in MHA. In this case I have to leave the MHA after 1 year. How a DO school will look at it?

Please, I need some suggestions.....

thanks

Most schools are going to require that you complete your current degree track before you begin medical school. Why not just wait until you have completed the degree before you apply?

i am applying for current cycle, it means I will start med school in 2011. So 2010 is break for me. If I do not get in this cycle, I wanted to start MHA. If I do not get in this cycle, I have will start med school in 2012 only. So 2 year break in which I could compleet my MHA.

Wouldn't work. Plus, it would just be a fat waste of time and money when you could just be doing like a SMP or something. However, according to your MDApps ... you're GPA is fine, but your MCAT is low. Why don't you just retake it??? Spend a year prepping, taking, and retaking if necessary. This is going to make the biggest difference.

I took it again last month and i made lesser then the first time.
Now either I retake it 3rd time before august/sept to stay in 2011 cycle or my cycle will move to 2012. and it I do not get in this cycle, I would have compelted MHA by 2012. But I thinkI stand a chance in DO and because of this I am not able to get into MHA. It is a big delima. Not sure if ia m able to explain.

whst is the use of doing SMP? is it counted towards grad school in case I decide to go to grade school.

It isn't a big dilemma. Concentrate on applying to med schools this year (or don't). If you want to go to med school, then focus all of your attention there and do your best to get in by retaking the MCAT again. If you would feel more comfortable waiting to apply next year, then by all means do that. I would either do the MHA or not. There is no way, this year, to do both.

I am starting an MHA program this fall (2 years to complete) and I have also applied this cycle for my in state DO school. Will this be a problem? (There are many residencies at the school my MHA is at which could be completed at a later date)

Emno, go to the mcat prep section. If you honestly got a 23 you most likely just didn't study enough or properly. If you spend a extra year preping and retaking you'll be in such a better position.
Maybe even consider a informal post-bacc and take a few classes or retake them to get you a better understanding of the material.

Not to sound harsh ... but really change the way you prepared and don't sit until you are scoring where you want to on practice tests. Getting a 21, or 23 again might be a nail in the coffin, but obviously your MCAT is the point you need to fix.

Thanks. I want to give it one more try in aug.

Honestly, august is close. So be careful, consider doing the 3 month mcat prep plan in the mcat-prep section. You can probably compress it into 2 month, but seriously taking the mcat so soon with little study time will set you up for failure.

I was getting 30+ in praxctice test
