What age are most patients who go to a pediatric's office? I know it is usually up to 21 but surely there are more 10 year olds than 21 year olds that go there. What is the average age of pediatric patients?

I would venture to say around 4-6 years old. Most Pediatric dentists are seeing referred hellions sent from GP's. A majority of kids older than 6 can be managed by GP's. Yes Pedos see up through the teens, but a lot of their patients are much younger. I've taken 18 month old kids to the OR for full mouth rehab, so there is also that end of the spectrum.

My brother has Down's Syndrome and he went to a pediatric dentist until he was 18 or 19 but then the dentist retired (now he goes to our family's GP with the rest of us). Most of the patient's in the lobby were under 10, which I think is pretty typical of a pediatric office.
