I am 20 years old and I hope to go for my DDS. During my childhood, I didn't take the best care of my teeth. I have several cavities and I might have to get a crown on a tooth. I have changed my dental habits and believe that I now have very good oral hygiene, but I do have the old cavities and some enamel loss. I really would love for this this to be my career, but I think my dental past would be an issue. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciates. Thanks!

As far as I know, they don't check your teeth in the interview or as a condition for acceptance 🙂 However, I would say, you have a really good topic to talk in your PS 😉 Spin it, spin it, spin it 🙂

Ha! You're fun. I wish that was my biggest concern for getting into dental school.

Well yea I have other concerns, and it wasn't for getting into school, just the whole aspect of not having perfect teeth. I just happen to be self conscious and can't seem to get passed it.

I have hypodontia of 5 permanent teeth and thanks to that exposure to dentistry since i remember, I'm gonna be a dentist!!!
