Hello everyone! This is my first post and I am in desperate need of advice as well as opinions on what my chances are.

cGPA: 3.78. sGPA 3.7

Clinical experience:
-CNA at nursing home for two years.
-Emergency department scribe for one and a half years with extra responsibility of training those who are newly hired.
-Job shadowing osteopathic physician for 150 hours in the emergency department.

Volunteer experience: Over 1000 hours
-Hospice
-Women's resource center
-Various local organizations which provided clothing/furniture/shelter
-TA for cell biology and biochemistry
-Organic chemistry tutoring

EC activities:
-Member of four honor societies
-President of ACS local section chemistry club

Job experience:
-Organic chemistry TA
-General chemistry TA
-Science department tutor

Research:
-Presented two times at national ACS conference concerning research performed at college.

Practice MCAT:
-Scoring within the 28-30 range

I am applying to five schools.

MSUCOM
LECOM
CCOM
DMUCOM
UNECOM

This is my dilemma. Last year I unfortunately took the MCAT during a time in which I was receiving a great deal of medical work and I did not perform to the best of my ability. Due to my performance, I chose not to even attempt applying because I was so unhappy with my score.

My question is should I submit my AACOMAS now, or wait until the middle of August when my second MCAT will be resulted? I know that admissions will see my first score, but should I submit now with indication that I am planning to retake?

What are my chances and what should I do?! Should I apply to a broader selection of schools?

You can apply now and have new score submitted. But only take the exam when you're ready, and do NOT make the poor choice again of taking a career-defining exam when you have a major distraction going on.

You should apply to a broader selection of schools. With your numbers and ECs, if you can score >30, you're competitive for many MD programs.

What MD schools would you suggest that I apply to with an MCAT score in the low thirties? I am a Michigan resident.
