Ivy League sGPA/cGPA both 3.7
1st MCAT 31(12,9,10)
2nd MCAT plan to take it in few weeks (lets just say I get 35)
I'm at the end of my first gap year (taking 2 years off) working at a research lab in a medical school hospital in the states.
I'll have 3~4 years of research experience.
Some clinical and non-clinical volunteer experience.
overall, average resume.
The thing is..... I am an Asian. I know that no schools will deny you acceptance because of your race, but everyone knows that as an Asian I will pretty much be competing with other Asians for acceptance. And I think my GPA,MCAT, and resume are probably on the lower end of average Asian applicants.
For example, I see many caucasians and African Americans or non Asian/Indian applicants get into higher end tier medical schools with lower GPA/MCAT/less impressive resume than Asian/Indians with much higher GPA/MCAT/ more impressive resume...
I know I might be sounding a bit pessimistic, and perhaps even racist...? But Please know that I do not mean to sound like that.
I'm just trying to figure out what the reality is for me getting into med school in the states.
I'd really appreciate replies!
