I'm a very nontraditional applicant. Didnt adapt to college the first time and spent a significant amount of time away. Really found myself as an EMT which motivated me to get a nursing degree, after which I decided to try for medical school. So my stats would be;

3.25 overall at a large public university(Stinks, but after I came back I had a 3.95 my last 100 hrs)
3.90 math/science gpa
1 yr research experience in microbiology
522 MCAT
2 years experience EMT
4 years experience ICU RN

Should I focus on only osteopathic schools, or do I have a chance at some of the allopathic ones?

Nice job with that killer MCAT! Buy the MSAR and figure out what schools have 10th percentile GPAs that are lower than yours. If a school has a 3.5ish 10th percentile GPA, it probably means you won't make the cutoff. IIRC, most schools have a 10th percentile GPA of 3.2. 522 MCAT scores probably don't come around often so I bet many schools will look past a weak cGPA to give you an II, plus you've got a killer upward trend. Just avoid GPA picky schools and I think you'll do fine.

Good luck!

Honestly you can apply pretty much anywhere, just make sure you're not too top heavy.
