My cGPA and sGPA are 3.5. I have three retakes for classes from sophomore year (Orgo C and D to B and B+, Physics D to A). I did a post-baccalaureate at University of Pennsylvania this year and got a 3.9. Lots of biomedical classes, anatomy, physiology, etc.

My MCAT was 29, I brought it up to 31 (11 verbal, 10, 10).

Lots of diverse shadowing (100 hrs MD 20 hrs DO). I also did a osteopathic medicine introductory course online from Rowan.

I have +100 hrs doing hospital experiences, +4000 hrs starting a volunteer community service program in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

Strong pre-health committee letter. I have an MD letter but I asked him to mention my interest in DO. I also went to PCOM's open house.

I am strongly committed to Philadelphia because I want to do DO and my fiancé lives here and is doing her residency so she cannot move for another year if I go to a different city for medical school.

What are my chances at PCOM? What can I do to make my odds the best they can be?

Strong imo but apply broadly as well...good candidate for low tier md as well...

Apply early, write strong secondaries, and hope you get an interview. You are a strong candidate who should (if no red flags) get an interview but the medical school admissions process is a crap-shoot so you never know beforehand how it will play out. Good luck!

Is it worth applying to PCOM if I'm from California. I think I have decent/solid stats for them and I've heard great things about the school, only that they don't take people from the West Coast. What do you guys think ?

I'm a West Coast PCOM acceptee, so yes. If your numbers are strong and essays resonate well with your adcom, then there is no such thing as in state bias...
