CGPA 3.2, BCP 3.2
Reason my GPA is Low because I had to retake Organic II, 3 times: F, D then A-(Grades I got). I got a C- in Neurosci as well and C+ in Micro.
Also because I thrived to finish my B.S in Biology in three years (Which I did), taking 18 credits each semester&Working full time . Going for my M.A in Bio starting this semester. AADSAS was processed and sent to schools like one week ago.
ESL student, Research experience, Shadowing, volunteering , community service, Former Club's president...etc

Honestly, I would say your chances are not very good based on those stats alone, but you never know. You did get your B.S. in 3 years while working full time, which is impressive. I'm sure schools take that kind of stuff into consideration, but GPA is #1 for them. You probably need to have a very terrific interview.

Keep your hopes up!
I have quite a few C's in bio and one in English, but still got an interview this cycle. I don't have nearly as many extracurriculars as you. Good luck.

You're DATs are pretty solid... your PAT could use a few points or two but other than that, solid. GJ 👍

With that said, while GPA is very important like many have said, it also depends on what school. Yes. Getting a 3.3 in Harvard or Princeton is way more impressive than in a Community College. No offense to anyone, but it just is.
While a 3.2 is below average, it is not terrible. Heck, I have the same sGPA and BCP, but a higher cGPA. I even have lower DATs! (but with a higher PAT) and I already have 2 interviews!

I think what hurt you the most was the late submission....
With not-top-notch grades, you will be at the bottom of the pile, competing against all the applicants who were NOT accepted for a very very small number of seats. With that said, best of luck to you, and hopefully you get some interviews!

When I posted on SDN with my stats, everyone pretty much just told me I didn't have a chance.
Well, 3 months later I am here with 2 interviews, and waiting to hear back from more schools.
Good luck!
Most importantly, :xf:

I completely agree with the response above. I have similar stats, exact same gpa and DAT (except i have no Fs and never had to retake anything) and I have 4 interviews including Columbia U. This process goes beyond stats. Write a powerful personal statement, and let ur passion be the smoking gun that gets you that interview

Columbia? Really, GJ! 👍

I thought about applying to Columbia, but I've read (and from the ADEA book) they put a lot of emphasis on DATs.

I decided not to apply, now I really wish I had applied. Maybe I would have stood a chance. Same with UPenn.

Don't mean to Hi-Jack, but mind I ask what your scores are and when your submission date was? Deciding if it's too late to add a few schools (including those) this late in the cycle and without superb scores.

Nice work regardless 👍

To OP: What matters the most is you did the best you could. We don't know what your chances are, only the admissions office. With that said, get an interview, dominate it, and pray for an acceptance. That's my plan. And if all else fails, Masters/PostBacc, then re-apply and get in with flying colors.

Without anything to stand out on your application, you are borderline.

Pros: possibly good EC's

Cons: Late application, average DAT, and low side of GPA.

What can make the different and get you accepted: Personal statement, EC's, Interview, and Ethnicity.

Good luck, If you don't make it this time, apply early, have a good PS, and lots of EC's and you should make it in next time.

I don't think most schools put too much concern about your workload in undergrad, I think taking 18 credits is shooting yourself in the foot.

Thank you all--for your inputs and Good Luck with your interviews. Special Thanks to CedarZ4!
I'll keep you updated.

Wow, that's really encouraging to hear! My DAT scores were higher than the OP but I am in a similar science GPA situation, although my cumulative GPA is higher. Denthope, mind if I ask when you were complete at Columbia and when you received an interview there? It's an amazing school!

I was an ESL student too, but how the hell your school allowed you to take OrgoII three times😱. Cs in upper level biology courses is not so good especially in Neuroscience.
