(Biomedical Engineering, junior) I have a 3.67 cGPA, 3.63 sGPA, 38 MCAT (13 PS, 14 V, 11 BS). I started college off slow but am doing strong now, expecting a 4.0 this semester including an A in organic chemistry 1. Based on these grades and my classes for next semester, there's a very good chance I will bring my GPA up to mid-low 3.7

Research- I've been working in the lab of an engineering professor, involved in a research project for the last 2 years now with a postdoc. I presented a poster for it at a local symposium and our group is working on a publication

Volunteering- .~200 hours in nearby hospital
Shadowing- ~50 hours

Involved in some other clubs based on hobbies

Have been a Teaching assistant for the last 3 semesters (including this one) for physics and will continue next semester.

I'm a NYS resident so my top choices are the SUNY's, especially Stony Brook for the instate tuition, but I would love to attend a school in NYC so I'm also looking at Columbia, Weill, NYU, Albert Einstein. I'm interested in schools in any major city though really, so that includes Philadelphia, Boston and California schools. Are those schools realistic and would other reach and target schools should/can I be looking at?

You're very competitive with your number and activities for the SUNY's and Einstein. You're competitive for the NYC schools as well, but there is no guarantee; you should definitely apply to all of them regardless. California schools are especially tough as well, much like other top schools. But with a well balanced list you will have success for MD.

The top schools are all in striking distance, but I think you'll have the best luck with the mid tiers. I think you're competitive for every school in NYS. USC, definitely, but I'd write off the UCs.

Add Dartmouth, Duke, Emory, Pitt, NW, Vanderbilt, GWU, Gtown, Tulane, U Miami, Loyola, U VT, and all new MD schools.
