Hello SDN,

I am looking at old posts on SDN of people who didn’t get in and im kind of getting scared. I have a 3.3 sGPA and a 3.4 gGPA. My DAT breakdown is as follows:
22PAT
23 GC
22 OC
22 BIO
24 QR
21 RC
22 TS
22 AA

I’m planning to apply to about 18 schools and get them out as soon as possible. Can anyone with experience with applying before tell mw how I match up and what my changes would be?

Thanks!!! J

Your DAT score is very solid, and GPA is good enough. If you do apply early and to many schools, you will be fine!

Our scores and GPA are nearly identical. I applied to 16 schools and received 6 interviews. Be selective on where you apply and be prepared to address any questions regarding your grades. Best of luck

Similar stats here, how did you pick your schools in terms of GPA? I'm at about 3.4 right now for both GPAs so I'm thinking of trying to not applying to more than one or two schools with GPAs more than like 3.6 or so.

I applied to a few reach schools like Columbia, Michigan and UCSF, a few other public schools that were within 0.2 of my GPA and some private schools. I tried to find schools where I may be slightly below average in terms of GPA but where I was above average in terms of DAT. My personal statement also addressed the fact that I worked 34 hours a week and took a full course load, hence the reason my GPA was slightly lower than the average admitted student.

I think you should still try. You never know.... and that DAT should make it up.

Yeah I feel yah, but money is really tight right now so unfortunately I can't be throwing down money for more than 10 or 11 applications so I'm just trying to really make those choices count.

My stats are freakishly similar to yours. I just posted a "chance me" thingy without seeing this first.... I am feeling the same way about my gpa.PM me! its nice to have someone in the same boat as you to discuss matters with.

Obviously apply to your state schools. I had 4 interviews and 2 acceptances and one of those was my state school. My stats were lower than yours, so you should be fine.
