Hey Guys! This is my second time applying to medical school. I am applying to a couple MD schools in my area along with 6 DO schools. Submitted most my DO apps/secondaries end of June and have yet to hear back...

-research experience working with bacteria for over a year and cancer research position started last month along with publication and conference presentation
-Volunteer at clinic about 6 hours a week
-Volunteered at a hospital for over a year

Your EC's seem pretty solid.

In all honesty, I think that your chances at an MD school are slim to none with that low of an MCAT. For a DO school, you have a respectable chance at getting in if you have GREAT LOR's, a solid personal statement, and are just very quick and on time with everything.

But I will tell you the same thing many people have told me. If you KNOW that you want to be a doctor, your chances of getting in are 100% if you are willing to work hard enough for it. It just might take a little while.

Don't get discouraged, and best of luck to you.

MCAT is too low for MD schools, but fine for COMs. you should be getting plenty of interviews this year from them.
Good luck!

You will probably get into a DO school. In the event that you do not, retake the MCAT. Getting a higher MCAT will give you the most return for your time/money investment.
