Here are my DAT scores:

PAT 20 %87
RC 18🙁 %38.1
QR 22 %94.1
Bio 24 %98.4
Gchem 27 %99
Ochem 27 %98.2

Ts 26 %99.8
AA 24 %99.2

I have a 4.0 overall GPA. I have taken 70 units at a community college + 12 units at USC. I'm going to be a JUNIOR this fall [it's my third year]. however, I have attended three semesters of dental school [equivalent to 60 units of general health science courses] in a foreign country before emigration. I don't have official transcripts for those units at dental schools though, but I have talked about those in my application.
I'm applying to Harvard, Columbia, UCLA, UCSF, USC, UOP and Western U. I'm a California resident.
Regarding these information [and my low RC=18🙁], what are my chances in any of the dental schools that I have applied? I would really like to ge in UCLA, UCSF or Harvard, as those are the cheapest ones out there.
Thanks to all of the almost-dentists who are gonna give me their opinion.

You should be fine. I too had similar units from community college, maybe little more, and still secured interviews at many programs (OSU, Louisville, Case, Columbia and BU). Although I applied late in the game, I am now a 3rd year at one of those programs.

Don't sweat it.

Thanks for the feedback. ANyone else?

LOL... Holy crap! Your stats are amazing. If you are serious by asking this, I have to say your chances are probably REALLY good 😉 Congrats!

I know I'll get in somewhere, but checking the predents cycles, I see not so many people have been accepted to UCLA, UCSF and Harvard with high AA [>23] and low RC such as mine. That's the annoying part.
Thanks for the responses again.

to have my DAT scores is reason to be concerned...you on the other hand will be fine...oh,

(i clicked post before i was done...) i was saying that on predents i even saw someone with a low gpa and not so great DAT scores who got into Tufts yet they wont even look at my app because of several comm college courses...this application business is quite stressful and hard to predict...in any case, you will be fine I am sure. ;-)

Boy, as I said, I have about 70 Community units and only 12 units at USC. How about that:laugh:?

U are a strong candidate after interview based on predent.com data!

Congrats!! 👍

You're kidding, right??? You actually started this thread with the stats that you have?!?!?!????? Most people who legitimately have a reason for posting a "My Chances??" thread are trying to get in anywhere... not asking about their chances at UCLA or Harvard. Come on man...

I know man, but what is wrong with this? I know I will get in many schools with this AA, but I was wondering if the 18 on RC would still be ok for UCLA, UCSF, Columbia or Harvard? Not a legite questions?

Def a legit question. I was wondering the same thing about a couple of schools and my stats. I dont thin there is anything wrong with it.

but i only have one human infectious disease bio course (mistake and waste of time) and then 2 semesters of gen bio...i do not have any other upper level bio classes...does anyone know anyone who got accepted into dental school with a weak DAT bio score and just the basic pre-reqs?

All I have is a couple of basic bio classes, 2 gchem classes, 2 ochems, and one physics.

Wow great scores on your DATs. If you're really worried about your RC score you may want to call the schools and ask them, but I really think that you'll be fine.

Stop being such a scary cat. You definitely have an excellent shot at making into dental school. You'll probably end up with multiple offers unless you fluff the interviews when you get them.

Hmm.... I wonder if someone with a 99+ percentile on the DAT has a good chance of getting in....... If you are seriously asking if you have a good chance to get in to dental school you are a *****!

I was asking about my chances at UCLA, UCSF or Harvard with my low RC score. Please leave the thread if you are here only to hurt somone with your offensive remarks.

A 24 is high and so is a 4.0, but you have to note that he does have a lot of CC hours. Don't get me wrong, harry did prove himself on the DAT, but some schools might not look past that.
Do your top schools say anything about CC credits?
I think UCSF said something about a max number you can take.
I think your RC is ok. Won't hurt imo.
You seem set for at least 1 of the 3.
Good luck man

I know of someone who got an interview from UCSF w/ a 16 RC... The person probably bombed the interview... so ended up w/ a rejection.. stop worry Harry!!!
