Here are my stats:
Major: Music
sGPA: 3.7

Lots of ECs including shadowing, EMT and research( 4yrs with publication).

I am only interested in DO. can someone please advice if I am ready to apply to DO schools?

You have a shot...Apply early and broadly.

How well you do in english classes are not really indicative of how well you do on the VR section. It is a monster in itself.

The 24 could hold you back but you never know what will happen. Do you have anything that you consider unique? Like hobby, artistic endeavors? Something to make you stand out.

Like the other two have said, apply early and broadly. The one thing that will hold you back is your VR 6, the good thing is that you did well in BS which carries more weight at some schools.

The 10 in BS will help you in a lot of schools. Since you gpa is above par you should have a fantastic shot at many schools.

VR is such a ridiculous section on the real thing..I could easily argue that it's 50% luck.For example I got a 10 on VR my first time with no studying...took it again after owning the EK 101 VR book and ill be luck to get a 7 on that beast..The questions/passages were just beyond bizarre. you're golden for DO

6 verbal is a killer even for DO admissions...may get rejected pre-secondary by the computers...

i think you'll be fine. i have a 5 in verbal, i called 19 schools and only 2 gave me crap for it
others said they emphasize BS and PS and that they look at the overall composite.


ppl who say "omg screen at 6 or 7" are just passing along what they've heard. 👎


let me make that clear, what i meant was only for DO schools. i'm sure MD programs do have cut-off's/screen for low section scores

TCOM, Touro-NV, KCUMB, RVU, Western

all else I think is okay. (I never looked into ohio/oklahoma)

Yeah, oklahoma too. "Minimum of 7" says on their site.
just apply early and hope for the best; that's what i'm doing

The verbal reasoning isn't luck at all. It's about critical thinking...
