Hey guys, I have everything ready and planing to turn in and finish my application right when it opens up. (So I'm applying super early)

Here is my story:
Major: Bio-Anthro at UCLA
oGPA: 3.56
sGPA: 3.2

DAT break down:
PA: 20
QR: 16
RC: 17
Bio: 17
GC: 18
OC: 22

TS: 18
AA: 18

-have done couple good researches
-2 publications
-Pre-Dental club awards
-Dental lab courses for pre-Dentals
-over 300 hours of shadowing
-great extracurricular activities: founder of 2 organizations at UCLA, have been in a frat, and held positions in many organizations.
-took all my science classes at UCLA (that's why my sGPA is low)

I'm applying to about 25 schools. What are my chances for getting in? Any thoughts?! Which schools should I apply for? I love dentistry by have no hope for acceptance this year! It's killing me!

Thank you!!

Here is the best bit of advice you are going to get.. Retake the DAT and stop making excuses.

I will be ok with re-taking DAT. But you are saying my chances for getting to any school is zero?

I didn't say that. No one here can tell you that for sure, if they do they don't know what they are talking about. Nothing is impossible but if I were you I would do whatever I could to improve my app to increase my chances, and the quickest, easiest way for you to do that is to retake the DAT.

I also vote on retaking your DAT. 16 QR, 17 RC, 17 BIO, and 18 GC is something I would be concerned about.

I think you may run into trouble getting into state schools if you decided not to retake the DAT. Private schools will likely give you interviews. This past year, the common theme among those getting accepted was to have a 19AA with no scores at or below 17 in any subject areas.

CA schools: very low chances unless you are URM. USC might bite.

If you apply early and broadly to "lower tier" schools, you probably will have a chance but these chances will go way up if you retook the DAT.

i'd say pretty low as well. have to raise those DAT scores

Much better chance is you retake the DAT, try not to get any scores below 18 in any section.
