Hi, I just wanted to know what my chances were for getting into a good medical school (if not top, then at least something that's in the ranking system!)

I have a 3.83 overall GPA and a 3.6 science GPA (not including senior year).

Let's say I get like a 30 MCAT score? What would realistically be my chances if I applied to say 30 schools?

I'm just trying to get an idea here =/

Also, is it better to take more science classes (even if you don't necessarily want to!) to raise the GPA?

There is no way to tell without knowing your ECs. Also, there is a separate forum dedicated to this.

To give you an idea: Approximately you have a 88.25799% chance of getting into a "good"medical school that is at least listed in the ranking system. Maybe more depending on the MCAT. Maybe less depending on your interviewing skills.

That combination of scores is consistent with admission for an otherwise well qualified candidate. The MCAT score is, however, below average and thus for admission to a "top" school you would have to have some extraordinary qualities or experiences.
