Just got my GPA re-calculated according to the ADEA rubric. Here is my academic stats:
Ohio State U, Biochem BS
south carolina resident
overall GPA: 3.33
sciGPA: 3.34
DAT: 24/AA, 24/TS, 22/PAT, 22/BIO, 28/CHEM, 22/OCHEM, 26/RC, 22/QR
volunteering: 82 hrs at a university hospital
shadowing: ~140 hrs by June.
NO RESEARCH (would that hurt me?)
Worked during high school and through college.
1 letter from dentist, 1 letter from a biochem professor and 1 letter from microbiology professor.

thx

GPA is ok. DAT is awesome. Volunteering is ok. Shadowing is good (as far as you reach +100hrs, you are good to go). Research is not that important to DS school. They would like to see you do research, but they won't throw your application because of it. Working from highschool shows that you've matured at early age, make sure you spot light on that. LORs are good (unless they are written from profs who barely know you). Last thing, APPLY EARLY and to a lot of schools. You'll be surprised by the amount of idiots who got +21 DAT and decided to only apply to Harvard. Your application means nothing if you are late.

You're application is very similar to what mine was, but with a better QR score.
You'll be fine.

Practice basic interview questions and apply early. The second part of that last sentence is more important than the first.

I like that hellopeople included a brief instructional statement at the end of his/her post.

OP, you look good! Just do what the others said and apply early / broadly. Practicing interview questions is a good idea, but don't overdo it to the point that you sound rehearsed.
